Thanks Paul for organising this GB.

My contribution will be these two kits ....

The figure set is quite old and I will probably only use one or two of those figures.

Sprues and instructions for the kitchen look pretty straightforward.

Looking forward to the start.

Nice kit, I have lots of figures sets and accessory sets from Tamiya, and have often looked at that one (the field kitchen).
Look forward to seeing what you do with it, will there be a dio possibly?

Hopefully a simple dio/base. Tamiya do a set with horses for a "travelling" set up
Initially these were horse drawn but later mechanical power was used. This kit looks to have a tow bar for some sort of tow truck rather than horses.

I've seen pics of these being pulled by trucks and even kettenkrads, and sure I remember an aftermarket set to convert it to one mounted in the back of a truck

I've seen that field kitchen many times in adverts but never seen it built up. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it Jim.

Remember seeing the horse drawn set in Beatties donkeys years ago as a kid . Looks like a great little scene coming jim , cheers tony

Thanks for your interest in this build. Made a start yesterday and got part way through the kitchen trailer and cleaned up the two part chimney.

I said earlier that this kit was for a vehicle towed set up rather than horse drawn but I was wrong. On studying the sprues and instructions yesterday I realised that there were two tow bars. One to join the kitchen to the front limber and one for the horses. I wrongly assumed that the joining tow bar was for vehicle attachment.

Left - for horses. Right - bar to join kitchen to limber.

Now I'm gonna need a couple of 1/35 scale dobbins - any suggestions please :)

Interesting subject. That's one of the things I love about these old Tamiya kits, they used to tackle some nicely different subject - I'll be watching with interest.

I looked at that kit Peter. It would have been cheaper than the horses I've bought. The only problem was that the two horses are in "pulling" mode. I need them resting while the kitchen is set up for use. I don't have the skills to alter them.

Interesting choice of build Jim and adding animals to the mix will make a great scene. This GB is throwing up some real variety, something Tamiya was well known for 👍
