Joe's 1/72 Airfix Boeing Chinook HC1

Ahh Italeri, don’t you just love them 🙄

Poor fitting clear parts seem pretty much par for the course on the few I’ve built.

Hopefully you will be able to sort out that step Joe, the rest looks great 👍

Geoff.

Cheers Geoff. I looked at other builds of this kit online, and some don't have any issues, others have steps that are worse than mine. Quite a few ignored it. I should be able to get the step sorted out. I'll treat myself to something better fitting for my next build. 👍

Well, it took me a long time, but I got that step between the fuselage and glazing sorted. Added a few other bits and pieces including the fuselage windows. I masked the side windows with Humbrol Maskol, which went nicely into the shallow cavities. I also have the rotors assembled.

I think I'm ready to hit this pig with Mr Surface Primer.

Got the first layers of paint on today. For the black I used Mr Color "Cowling Color", which is the black/blue shade used on Japanese Second World War aeroplane cowlings. It's not as stark as black. I used it on the underside of the Chinook airframe, and on the rotors.
