I have this and was tempted to give it a go for this GB but not sure I will finish in time. I also have some Eduard PE for it for the wing flaps but if I did it, not sure I would do that part anyway It is a nice kit, and I know it is not patriotic, but I think the B17 is a far better looking aircraft than the Lanc -


Any idea which scheme yet? [edit] doh, you said as shown. RTFM and all that!

Looks good John, nice and clean paint work. For the bare metal, I'd go a mix of polished aluminium and plain old aluminium for different panels if that's the look you're going for . Only preserved aircraft or fresh out the factory B-17s would have looked shiny all over. Lots of images online to ponder, here are some links and a photo of the crew

Thanks Joe very interesting story. The best halves of two planes which went onto fly another 29 missions.Great engineering by the mechanics at the time and I now know who to thank for all the masking required on the B-17s paint scheme" Half n Half "indeed
