yes... at my hobby shop!

I doubt very much I would even attempt half of those, they would go to waste with me, I just would not have time.

Thing is, for all we know, they could just be empty boxes, maybe he just collects the box art? I mean, judging by the hanging things modelling doesn't seem to be his strong point.

Crazy but exciting stash! I could never allow myself to buy that many. Perhaps he builds and sells them?

Many years ago a friend who has since past on, used to buy 3 of every kit he could get his hands on.

Initially he lived in a bungalow, but he bought a house so he could fit out his loft and spare bedrooms with dozens of shelves.

He must have accumulated several thousand kits over the years, the bedrooms had shelving not only against the walls, but rows of them down the centre as well.

When I once asked him why 3 of the same, he replied that one was for building, one for swapping and one to save as a collectors piece for the future.

After he passed, his wife who really didn't appreciate his ( her words, 'waste of money') contacted many of us, and we were given the choice of whatever we wanted to purchase. She wasn't concerned how much she got, she just wanted rid!

We didn't rip her off, as we paid what we felt was a reasonable price for whatever we acquired from his stash. She was happy that his friends could make use of his collection.

The remainder (which was considerable) after we had made our purchases, was snapped up by a certain person who gave her a pittance to clear the complete lot.

Obsession comes in many forms, I know, I have had my own in the past.

But that's another story!
