OK chaps working on the principle that if you don't ask you won't know, I'd like to ask what may well be to everyone else a dumb question.

I see you applying an aluminium coat, then aluminium and burnt umber washes followed by enamel washes to tone it down. To me at that point it is still silver coloured though. Then when you put the acrylic worn paint effects on and the transfers you seem to be working on a light blue surface! What bit have I missed here?

Now that looks great Polux , is that dry brushed on ?It's a great affect

Not! I don't do a drybrush!

This effect is the alcohol and the paint, that I sprayed. Forget to explain: you spray this mix with one hand on the airbrush and the other with a little piece of sponge just wait 4 or 5 seconds and retouch the work with it.

The washes are the only made with brush

You don't have missed anything Richard

The guilty is my computer....

There is reply missed there was photos of the mask work and the first coat of Hellblau colour, is the lower camouflage colour.

Aluminium + acrylic worn + Hellblau

Thanks mate , would you get the same effect if you just dipped the sponge in a bit of paint then wiped it off and dabbed it on ?

I have discovered this mix only works with Mr Hobby, with Vallejo doesn't happens anything.

You have to spray it, the sponge is only a "preventive moderation". You will see that the paint runs free and the alcohol evaporate very fast, if there is an excess of paint just touch it with the sponge

Ok mate thanks for the info , I'm going to try a similar thing on my tank but using a different method

Just to confirm then, the light blue was sprayed over the silver with the washes? So what was the purpose of the silver with the washes? I actually thought that you were going to apply masking fluid, salt, hairspray etc.. and the remove the top coat to reveal the washed silver below. You seem to have covered it completely with the blue then painted more worn paint effects over the top.

I suspect I'm still missing something! By the way the finished wing with the transfer applied looks superb!

I understand your concern and restlessness.

I suppose if I follow the normal way and the established "canons", I must add a panel wash and gloss varnish. But spray a gloss coat over a 1/24 model just for add two decals...? And lose all this tone...? Please, never!!!

I have losed the 80% of the previous work, but the 20% remaining looks very nice on the model

Is not practice...is just my work methodology I think every colour or "phase" has his own history, then each one needs a seperate weathering. I learn all this reading the Steve's stories and posts, he always talk about different years, weather, manufactures, etc ...as a conditional factors.

I'm wishing to build a boat for that reason you must modelling every material on a different form/way. The wood with flax oils, rusty effects on the metal parts, dirty ropes and nets....

Said this...on the upper side will happen exactly the same. My idea is paint all the camouflage and weathering and the add the white camo...

Impressive work Polux.

I can understand the confusion surrounding the method (and perhaps describing it in a second language doesn't help, although your English is about 200 times better than my Spanish!). But the method is sound and your doing a marvelous job with it. I'm amazed at the speed with which you seem to be tearing through this model you have far more time for modelling than I can seem to find!

The 1/24 Airfix Stuka was always amongst my most wanted Xmas presents as a kid and your build is rekindling those 'gotta have' feelings. I don't think I'll be building a 1/24 Stuka for some time though as I have far too many projects in the pipeline than I could possibly give time to. I'll content myself with the admiring yours when finished.

Keep up the great work I'm sure this is going to be a cracker.

I must admit yesterday I was working on the edge....the paint wasn't dried enough

I worked all the day, because it starts to be "dangerous" now....I have started to think on a new projects, and I don't want to park this one!!

Hi!

Just a little little update. I have started to add a standard brown wash (AK enamel) at the panel lines and the small holes.

Seems I will need some hours to finish this job

Rivets have shown up beaut with that wash. This is going along extremely well. Did you do this OOB? By the way, I want more pics!!! Don't show us parts of it only, show the whole thing
