One of the main reasons I prime pete is because the top coats stick better than if it was bare plastic , so if the primer doesnt stick then it defeats the object ! Of course this is mainly a thing with water based acrylics . Cheers tony

Update , - dont throw away all your white stynlrez !!! It wasnt UMP/ Stynlrez i used , it was Vallejo acrylic polyurethane primer.
This explains why ive never had a problem with the black ( which IS stynlrez) !

Problem solved. Vallejo primer is horrible stuff in my opinion. Peels off like a rubber skin.
I've got 3 bottles of that in the back of a drawer (black, white & grey) that may never see the light of day again...
After masking off the tail and nose the silver was sprayed on - vallejo metal color. While handling one of the tails broke so this had to be repaired after the masking came off . Next a clear coat ,then decals .

I actually broke it while it was masked up Ian , while masking the nose I dropped it and whats the first thing you do when dropping something while sitting down? You close your legs quick to catch it , and crunch , it got caught between my legs . Never mind it went back on easily enough but ,yes , in answer to the initial question , there was a LOT of swearing !:surprised::smiling5:

I threw all my Vallejo primers in the bin, had the same thing happen to me .Nothing more off putting when a simple thing like a primer just doesn't work .
Gone over the AK 3 rd Gen thankfully they work .

That's looking very smart. The colouring adds to the unusual appearance of this plane. Glad the tail fixed back ok.

Stripes now painted plus the red around the intakes , all ready for decals now
