I dispensed with the Dragon figures and used the excellent ones from Master Box....The long standing members will recognise them from my Iwo Jima model. Cheating perhaps, but I had lost the will to live after putting together just one Dragon marine.

I have added a watercolour back ground to give a bit of depth to the composition and make it look like a small built up area with small alley ways.

I have taken the pictures in B&W, I think this gives a better 'Period atmosphere'.

You will notice the absence of gun straps.....Whilst reading about the Pacific Theatre, I came across a bit about some American units dispensing with these, as they kept getting caught up in the foliage...So I left them off too, less work!

Anyway, I hope you approve, and as always, all comments and suggestions received with a smile......

Cheers,

Ron

For some reason the pictures have appeared before the words...sorry!

Having watched this build from the off the final piece is excellent top build

Outstanding work Ron, a superb dio with great atmosphere, the B&W also adds to the suspense.

Si:)

Another excellent piece Ron!

I can appreciate why you've done B&W pics but please could we have some colours so we can see this 'in the flesh' as it were?

Gern

Fantastic Ron and the B&W option really give it that period feel , still I would love to see it in colour so I could see more of the detail :)

Steady Ron! Tunnock bars weren't on my original list and I thought you'd decided on Lemon slices instead of Eccles cakes!

Ooooh now lemon slices might just be worth traveling 300 odd miles down to cosford for :) :) :)

Thanks for the very encouraging posts boys!
Dave, lemon slices in a Boddingtons is not quite the thing!

Right, you can blame Dave (Gern) initially for sowing the seeds for the above........

You might notice the figures have moved a bit. This is due to me having a bash at the mottled U.S. Marines cammo - The figures were originally plain Marine Green. Hence the slightly different placement of the figures from the B&W pictures.

I have also added some weapon shoulder straps...These are made from thin paper. I have also added a simple wooden saw bench.

I hope you liked the colour shots...if not, blame Dave!!!

Cheers,

Ron

What you need is a Japanese officer charging down with his sword in the air...not wanting to let the wounded man get away.

This is exceptional work Ron and I think you should box it up and then post out to me for safe keeping.

Si:)

Great stuff Ron.

Looks different in colour. Hot sunny and sandy.

Like it a lot.

Now there's a co-in-side-ence Si. I had given it some thought, but reckoned it might have cramped it a bit, but on second thoughts........
