Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2019)

In Hong Kong for a work trip...afternoon off so had a sudden inspiration to have a look for a model shop. Was not dissapointed! There are a lot in Kowloon, only visited two...literally couldn't hope for a bigger selection. Language barrier is a bit tricky, but all this for under £50. Hardest part was not buying more.

A very nice man in a red van delivered these today.

The book for the build.

Two wingy things, takes Peterairfix fault.

Pete.

That Typhoon is a really nice kit, I built it a few years ago with the rockets under the wings. The Chieftain, though … I think I’d have gone for one of the recent Takom kits instead of this old Tamiya one, even if they’re probably twice the cost.

Postie just delivered this..............

There isn't a model of this in 1/48, so I'm settling for 1/72 - hopefully this will be the first of a few FAA models - all in 1/72 'cos no models of them are made in 1/48. Classic Airframes made a 1/48 Gannet ASW, but that has now vanished, and they change hands at ridiculous prices on ebay!

Hermes were up and about really early this morning. Brought me a nice little package. In order to prepare for a Su-27 Flanker B build i have planned i ordered some of the new Vallejo Metal Colour paints. Still would like a few more lighter shades. But they aint cheap. Look forward to using them.

Newest edition to the stack now complete after nearly 3 years of collecting by subscription and no problems whatsoever (Unlike the Delorean BTTF which has been a shambles I resorted to purchasing missing issues off ebay as the publishers seemed incapable of supplying them)
Here is the Jaguar E Type just got to build it

Hi Wouter

I have 4, 3 1/32 revells and the 1/48 tamiya. By far my favourite plane. But need a lot more practice!!

Also got the Stug fest on the go as well!

Bob

I think it's such a great looking bird. The Zoukei-Moura version is on my bucket list, but it's so bloody expensive.

One of my favourite French comic strip artists has a He-219 featuring as well. So cool!

Oh yes feel much better knowing that a StuG is in production, but sad news to report , the old Woolfox station not far from us , which has a great history, and a few of the old buildings and hard standing left is going to be sold to developers.:cold-sweat:
As if we need another great housing estate build on a green field site
John .

Went to Cosford today. I don't need any more kits. I won't buy any more kits.

Ooh, this is interesting...P1140920.JPG It was priced at £10, but Ron persuaded me to offer £8, so I started bidding at £7 - and the seller kindly agrreed! Such a strange looking 'plane I couldn't resist.
Then I stocked up on cement:

Some paints and sanding sticks:

Another thing that I don't need any more of is brushes, but ABC Brushes has these packs of 50 (plus a couple extra) for £20.

Finally, as most of the traders were packing up, I spotted this for 99p:

Labelled as incomplete, but the main sprues are all there, together with the instructions and 2 sets of decals, so I think the only missing parts are bomb racks. No problemo, it can be a fighter.

I went for some me time today to the Tank Museum... it was lovely and quiet! I'll have to go there when it's open one day!:tongue-out2::rolling:
Thought us treat myself to this lil oldie;

I could of spent a few hundred pound in the shop, I don't think SWMBO would have happy though!

Here's a salutary warning.Never go to Halifax with only a tenner in your pocket. I could have spent a few hundred easy.As it was I came out with a canister of olive drab!
