Latest Acquisitions (2019)

my haul from Cosford
(I think I must have some Yorkshire blood in me ,Dave).....except for the first one

£5

£8

missing one trunk and one arm, but for £3 I can work with that

the next three were £2.50 each
yum!

a good day!
£2.50 each!!! Bargain Neil! If id seen them i would definitely have got the french bloke and the coldstream guard .
I love these airfix 54mm kits theyre so beautifully tooled , its just a shame my figure painting skills dont match the standard of sculpting. Cheers tony

Evening all,
I finally made it to a show after many years absence - met some of the chaps down at Cosford :thumb2:

It would of course have been rude not to buy something after travelling all that way so.......

rather nice 1/48 armoured car - not seen this one before

some paint. There was a note on the box of paint saying £1.50 which seemed rather too good to be true so I queried if that was just for one bottle rather than the entire box. Turned out the note had fallen off the shelf above :crying:
Stall holder said "but these ones are 10% off". I picked up this set and said I would have it. "oh not that one that's Ammo not AK, that one is full price". Paints had got into wrong box!!! BUM. So the worst bargain ever at the end of the day as I had to pay full price

an allied lorry - bit different and not bad price

lastly this 72nd Hummer by a company called Military Wheels - never heard of 'em

for the bargain price of £4 so it just creeps into Rons 'under a fiver' category
Bought without looking at the contents - had initial viewing after I got home and it doesn't look too bad

Very enjoyable day
What's the total now then Simon, 1000 and counting :smiling::smiling:.
At least you enjoyed the day out .
John .

Hi this is my haul from Cosford day out.

The sub is for the under £5.00 GB.

Pete nice haul, can you tell me what the JLC 006 is on the left hand side, I can see the mitre and the blades .?
Thanks

John - the JLC006 is designed for cutting round tubing, holds it in the V shape. I have used mine quite happily for square rod and tubing as well. Only downside is it doesn't have slots for 45deg cuts

Count is spiralling out of control - I have more stock than a lot of the traders! :smiling4:

Ron - I look forward to seeing what you can do with it. That Corvette was a good bargain

Thanks Simon.
Just think you could attend shows and become a trader if a change of career is needed .:smiling2:
Not much sleep last night then, posting this at 03.38 and again this morning on your thread !
Don't know how you do it .

You're building a 1/72 scale HMS Tiger?? That would be MASSIVE!

If you’re building 1/72 armour then at least you’ll be able to find room for quite a lot of models — roughly four times as many as those of us who mainly build in 1/35 scale :)

Well done Spartan, Looks a great kit. Not built that one as 1/72 is a tad too small for me. Enjoy!

Waiting for Dragon to release a new 1/35 Stug B but they appear to be slowly vanishing. Not many new releases

Picked these up today.

Very pleased to have these in my stash.

They’ll soon be joined by a very expensive Xtrakit scimitar I just had to have...

These arrived this morning many thanks to John and the staff at Scale Model Shop.

Wife wanted to go to Nuneaton today, so I checked out some of the shops; these from The Works:

Then the PDSA shop:

Unfortunately the Skyraider box contains two sets of the underwing stores, but no Skyraider!
P1140971.JPG
Oh well, it was in a good cause.

Never mind Peter, back in the day it means someone probably got two Skyraiders....

Yes Tim, there are a couple of empty sprues in there, and two stands. I guess someone built two kits without the stores and put the leftovers back in the box.
Pete

I was kind of hoping that some little kid got twice the plane for his pocket money....never mind.....

What a downer mind you I have got into the habit of asking to look in the box before I buy as I have been caught out so many times like that.

The Hunter box looked a bit suspect, so I asked them to cut the sellotape and open it for me, but the other boxes looked OK, so I didn't bother. The Esci Harrier was still sealed in cellophane. Incidentally the Heller Vampire has "Vampire Mistrale" embossed on the sprues. Does that mean anything to anyone?
