Latest Acquisitions (2019)

Wow that is a bargain basement find Peter Well done you ( Nigel Mansell was a driving great in his day

Nah, that would destroy the magazine (in any case it would be impractical to frame everything I’ve written that actually got printed :)). It’ll go on one of the shelves with my other modelling magazines when I finish reading all the articles.

Tweezers. After losing loads of bits when they'd pinged off my Poundland ones, I decided to invest in something better, until I saw the price of them!

Did a search on here and someone suggested jewellery/ watch repair suppliers might be cheaper, so I had a look around and found these:

Nice and solid, serrated ends that grip well, and a tenner posted for the set, which I thought was a bargain.

Finally found a kit at a decent price (£18). So here we have my 1/48 Academy P-38 J/L/Droop Snoop for the P-38 Lightning GB

A couple of things I picked up at Militracks last week:

Two kits from the sixties and although in German, the book has a nice selection of photos and technical drawings of the guns.:smiling4:

With an upcoming long weekend, got some silicone and resin to have a crack at casting and some more Evergreen to add to the selection:

They also had a new epoxy glue in store, as I was looking for a good one for a while, think it’ll hold resin bits together fine as it’s designed to repair yachts.:smiling:

Is that book by Werner Müller, published by Podzun-Pallas-Verlag, Friedberg? (I have a book with the same title, but a different dust jacket.) If so, it’s a really good resource, with lots of in-action photos plus official drawings and photos from manuals. The only better resource on the 8,8 cm FlaK I have is US Army TM E9-369A :) (But then again, I don’t have an extensive collection on these guns.)

Small hatch in sidewall between idlers 1&2 missing? PaulE

Hi Paul

The escape hatch was only fitted on the Stug Ausf A (version 2) and one Ausf G and both were welded shut. its a easy mistake but Stug's were built using there own factory built hulls based upon the Pz 111, but they left off some bits. The second A and the one G used chassis built at a Pz 111 factory and therefore had the escape hatches
