Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2019)

Japanese Crackers

Here is my haul from a recent trip to Japan...

Most came from Tokyo's Hobby Shop Sunny. This amazing store is literally jammed floor to ceiling with kits. The aisles were so narrow I actually had to walk around sideways...

The Type 95 Ha-Go by Finescale Models was my first find at a toy department in a huge electronics store in Kyoto.

My first ever Japanese armour acquisition, this started me off on a bit of a theme! I'm thinking up a diorama set in the Malayan campaign - a disaster for the Allies of course...

So I found some lovely 1/35 scale bamboo and other jungle plants from Jo-fix and a length of railway track. The Tamiya Japanese officer set is one of their more recent figure kits and looks beautifully sculpted - apparently the faces were 3D printed from company executives!

The Kubelwagen set is obviously destined for another project. I hadn't seen this Ramcke Brigade boxing before.

After a long delay, Hermes finally delivered this....................pentart rust.jpeg
Pentart Rust Effect - 4 basic rusty colours, and a 3D powder to give a textured finish. A new name to me, from Hungary. Will have a little play, to see how good they are..............

Hi these two items came today the Stug III from the forum shop thanks John :thumb2: and a stowage kit.

All set for the GB.
Pete.

Haha, the exact kit I was going to order for the GB when I got back from holiday.

May have to look for something else now

Another one of those "throw a €0.79 higher bid on an item in the last few seconds on evilbay"...……………………..Yup, and win the thing too!!! It goes with the one from last week and for under €15,

And of course some needed things for a scratchy build and a set of resin tires for a Steyr 1500A in the stash that didn't have any. Love the winter chains on them,

And the €10 price for them was nice too...……………...…………...

Hey Pete, absolutely no need to apologise, I just thought it a funny coincidence that we'd both chosen the same kit :smiling3:

HI GUYS here is my first buy for tiger an its quiz time any body know what it is ?IMG_4673.JPG

Water jet? The blue thing sticking out the top looks to be an electric motor, so I suppose it drives a propeller inside the grey tube that sucks in water through one end and pushes it out the other?

Just bought a kit form services TQ-207 kit. I’ve always admired their kits of the wheeled post war vehicles but the cost and the nature the kits have made me wonder if I could do them justice.

This is their cheapest kit and will allow me to see if I can do it justice, then I can expand on to the other kits the ferret and airportable Land Rover are favourites.

Went to an airshow Saturday and apart from seeing some splendid planes and flying, I also found some more reference books on sale:

The He-111 book was €20 but I wanted it for a Revell kit I have, the Bridge too Far book is a great read and the other Squadron ones were €5 each Wildcat was in wrong box but seller said you’re lucky you can have it for €5 (was €10).
Fell through though for some kits (yes weak I know:tongue-out3:), the Airfix and Crown are from 1974 and 1975, bought the micro’s to support the Fokker G1 organisation a bit:

Didn’t cost a lot though, €17 in total and old kits can be some fun too:smiling4:.
