Just arrived, an ebay purchase.....................

Harald Penrose was the chief test pilot for Westland - first flights of the Lysander, Whirlwind etc. He was also involved with the Westland-Hill Pterodactyls ( as on the cover ) - an interest of mine....................

I can see why it got that name!

As promised here are my latest 'gissits' from SWMBO (Kate) Das werke Pak 40!IMG_0688.jpgIMG_0689.jpgIMG_0690.jpgIMG_0691.jpg

Moulds appear good and clean with excellent detail, no flash but (unfortunately) bl--dy awful rubber tyres! Several options on wheels and other parts. Gun crew appear to be re-christened Dragon figures. Looking forward to creating the diorama for this. Initial impression is 'recommended'! As requested will review this once I get round to the build once all the rest of 'on the bench' is history!

The whole kit is a re-box of the Dragon kit 6249, including the rubber tires and figs..........

…and it was five quid cheaper than the spitfire I just bought…Dave W would be proud LOL….looks a great kit as well….

I am hope this redeems me; these were the items I puzzled over in Poole.
I'll report when they arrive, one of John’s special prices, how could I say no.

Went to a flea market with SWMBO and saw this.

not a great model, according to several reviews, as it's the old Revell kit just re-issued in a new box. It has raised airframe details, a cockpit not so much detailed and many other small imperfections

but decals are cartograph (I know someone will have a fit hearing of 1/32 decals... :rolling:sorry)

and it is the only 1/32 GR1 kit (according to several sources) in that scale.
Last, but not least, I just finished Cdr. Ward's book (it's not a SHAR, but yet an Harrier it is) so I felt the powerful hand of Destiny tapping on my shoulder :surprised:.
For less than 20€ I couldn't resist asking to SWMBO if I had the permission to... :hugging-face: ...and she said yes :relieved::smiling::blow-kiss-2: .
As there is not a significant aftermarket, this is going to become a OOB "Training object" for developing my skills on large scale planes (my final aim is to do a good job with the Eduard limited edition P40N) but I'll try to get the best out of it (and out of me) anyway, sooner or later.
