Another step closer to getting the series complete:

This is an original edition from 1988, but it looks as new — it came from the collection of a modeller who passed away earlier this year, and one of this friends is now sorting through and selling off his books.

Been on a trip up t'North to visit our daughter and she gave me this as a little early Christmas pressie. My son-in -law is the engineer that designed the 'Spitfire Roundabout' installation in Blackpool so there is a bit of a family connection. Inside its the regular Airfix starter set with some different decals...

Son-in-law also 3d printed me some additional fittings for my Proxxon pen sander. I'll be able to alter the shape of the 'foot' to suit the job in hand. Reckoned it took him about 20 minutes to reverse engineer the original (black) part into the software.

It is little more than a length of rod with a square stuck to one end and a beam on the other … Anyone who knows their way around CAD or 3D-modelling software should be able to knock that up in about thirty seconds flat, I would think :)

You're probably right Jakko - I think most of the time went into measuring it.....

OK so for the next project I have this and these....

And the clue is here....

I already have a homebuilt spray booth in the cave, but do not fancy sitting around waiting for the frozen paint to break of the tip of the airbrush - so came across this idea, and if it does not work at least I have another spray booth and a bucket to p in....
And in a week I will let you know how it all worked out....

ADDITION... 26/12/2023...
So put it all together and it works - did do an addition for you but it seems to have vanished along with the pics of the assembled and working booth.

Mike, I've got one of those booths and am very pleased with it. Fortunately, I'm sat next to a window so can vent straight outside.... Even in winter....

The last purchase for the year ( perhaps ) and probably for the Biplane GB. I'd chickened out of attempting this, or the Felixstowe variants for several years due to the rigging.......................

1/72 Roden Curtiss H-16
but found it at a very good price at a retail shop not far away from the SMS - cheaper than ebay prices, as well. So I thought I'd give it a go! Looking at the parts - What have I done!!!:dizzy:

Less exciting things arrived at the Towers today.

Interesting thing was the drills were only £ 2.24 . While on Amazon they were £ 5.89. So well worth a visit to Temu, post free. Those orange things are pointed paint holders, for any thing that has been painted and needs to stay off the ground. Silicone glue stick and a pkt of silicon shaper tools. Mixed set of micro drill bits.

Can't beat Temu, if you don't mind waiting a couple of days for stuff..

John,
with the Biplane GB looming, I decided to stock up on drills, 10 x 0.3mm & 10 x 0.4mm PCB drills & I threw in a spare hand pinchuck and some elastic rigging thread, all from Temu - 1 week delivery for <£10. No brainer! I break drills with monotonous regularity, so I might be able to finish one model!

I have some of the shaper tools and found them quite useful so far
