If you need another turret I can let you have one, PM me. Mike.Over on Scalemates, someone offered this Churchill kit for sale:
“Already started” he said, which now I have it, I consider a slight understatement:
More like “almost completed, with some broken bits that are all there” — but for €11 including postage, I can’t complain, can I? Especially as it also has an aftermarket set of resin exhausts with etched covers. I do need to disassemble the turret to correct it, and buy a set of separate-link tracks for it, but at this price, I don’t mind.
The book is not what I expected, but thankfully the author does go into how he builds his structures. Well worth the money.Hi folks,
As I stated in my GTR build, life is back to normal and my 4 brain cells are once again working. Some retail therapy helped, but what I ended up with was pretty outrageous, to say the least!!! I gave out €147 and ended up with all this from various places. Evilbay got me this for cheap,
I always wanted one and I have the Friuls to go on it too. A rain forest buy for €49.99 delivered and I had a €28 credit from them,
Dude 2 (JR) got me hyped up with his and I wanted one, but I guess with all the tax and import duties, the Insel price is much higher than here......A new release from Dragon of an old kit, but it comes with figs now too and was €47.00 delivered,
The cover is now matt printed and no details of the kit. Ron Volstad's pic is still used. The figs that come with it,
The box bottom is plain cardboard now with no pics either. Another evilbay grab was a 3 kit deal for €47.50 delivered. They were,
The etch set is from Plus Models and is for the radio van. It was inside the kit. The box was rather large and also included all this for free,
All sealed in their bags and the figs are the Tamiya Fallschirmjäger set from 1971. There was even more,
All Tamiya with 2 sets of FlaK figs in winter clothing, a Flak 38 Vierling AA gun and the pedestal to mount it on a vehicle, w/decals. Talk about a surprise!!! It was like Christmas in July. The only other thing in the box was a hand written note in German that said "Thank you for your purchase"...............
Prost (and still shocked)

Hello mate, now that was hell of a shopping trip. But you bagged yourself some nice kits.
Thanks guys and yeah I got lucky. End of September, my friend Thorsten and I have 5 meters of tables at a show to display our builds as private folks. The organizer also said we could use 1 meter of it to sell stuff too. Mega stash clearance is in the cards for it. Man doesn't need 3 Italeri Opel radio truck kits, do they???I guess you were due some good luck , Allen!
I scanned through it quickly and it does seem interesting. I have to sit down and do a good read soon. I also wanted the 500+ page AK F.A.Q. diorama book, but €109 was a bit too pricey for my blood...The book is not what I expected, but thankfully the author does go into how he builds his structures. Well worth the money.
Thanks for the offer, but that’s not necessary. AFV Club made a mistake with the Mk. VI turret, making the round part underneath taller than on the Mk. IV, rather than wider. But the kit also includes the Mk. IV lower part, and I think I have two more of those kicking around from the AVREs I built, so what I need to do is pry off the lower part and stick the other one on, then add a collar around it from some plastic strip. EasyIf you need another turret I can let you have one, PM me. Mike.

Well done Jakko! You’re welcome to them, at least then they might actually get finished someday :smiling3: I’ve had the bagged models for 15 years or so, and not done any work on them for … at least 14 :smiling3: I wonder where I put the boxes, though, because I think there must also be a Leopard 2A4 in addition to the 2A5, and etched parts for both?

You really did not need to go to such an expense just to mount my portrait photo, after all when you offer to buy me a drink, I have seen you collecting all the leftovers in the pub and putting it into one glass, such care and thoughtfulness takes some beating.....Nothing as interesting as you guys have acquired of late, but a very needed item from the Tedi €1 store down the road,
This puppy is going to get filled up soon......And it did cost more than €1...............................
Prost
