Freebie arrived today, all the way from China. Was on FB when saw the add for this paint palette system, quoting it was £24.99, yet when you went to the site it was £36.99, so just put a comment on the post and they got back to me to thank me for pointing the error out and would send me the deluxe version free of charge, was a bit sceptical but far play it has arrived. It has 4 mixing palettes, two airtight paint containers, brush holders and water tanks. and Two silicone brush pads.

It comes from Krydrufi - https://www.krydrufi.com/

Not used yet but it looks very promising.

An early delivery from postie
revell tiger moth.jpg
This is NOT the venerable Matchbox ( 1979 ) version, also reboxed by Revell, but a repop of the 2020 ICM model. Just a few pennies over £25 delivered - not a complex model..............

Well I didn't expect this! I was sorting out my stash, trying to decide what to start on (it's not a big stash, only 8-9 kits) but I found a kit that I'd forgotten I had!
It's a Airfix 1/48 Canadair Sabre! This was one of the first 2-3 kits I bought and I totally forgot about it! It's still sealed too and it had fallen down the back of the shelves.

At last! I've benefited from one of Hannants temporary 1/3 off the price deals!
I've planned to build this one before the version was conceived by those at Hasegawa, I saw a cool YouTube video of the first Japanese F-4 delivered to Japan as a pattern aircraft for licence production by Mitsubishi, it was built by McDonnell Douglas in St Louis, Missouri. This F-4 never served with JASDF but spent it's life at Gifu airbase in central Japan with ADTW (air development and test wing) it's duties including carrying a 'sniffer' pod to collect samples after Fukushima Diaichi nuclear disaster and North Korean nuclear tests

The version I'll be building is '301' and not '429' as seen on the box art

Miko (I can't think I've ever built a US version of a Phantom but only the FG1 and FGR2 UK types)

Few days late but heres my purchases from the Hinckley show .

Still on a bit of a bf109 odyssey at the moment , this one is very nicely detailed with a full engine and gun details !

Heres also something I got off ebay £10.94 inc postage , bargain .Theres two full kits in the box , but only 1 set of decals and only 1 canopy . Good thing is the Special Hobby has 3 canopy options so I can use one of those and the spare decal options from either kit :thumb2:IMG_3921.jpegIMG_3922.jpeg

Back from my little jolly to find these on the doorstep.

Paints for the Hurricane. I went with MRP for ease of getting the correct colour, but then discovered that S M S do them!

And some tools that would have come in handy for my sci fi build. A chopper for a nice clean cut on strips & tubes, and a mini mitre box for straight cuts on larger items:

Two new arrivals into the stash today. 1/72 Hasegawa F14B Tomcar "Jolly Roger" and a 1/72 Bristol Beaufighter. Both will have to wait as also picked up a Hurricane for the group build so thats first onto the work bench.IMGP0073.JPGIMGP0072.JPG

I got a couple of bits from the model show at Darlington yesterday, sort of a consolation thing with there being no 1/144 I was after.
The putty is for miniart mainly ;)

Be a while but will let my thoughts known when I've given them a run out. Dave

Always wanted to give 1/16 a go...and the creator is having an anniversary sale at the moment, so thought why not. It's huge. The size of it terrifies me!! Can of pop for reference against the upper hull.

Need to decide if and what aftermarket to go for. A couple more figures and some internals will be double what I paid but the AFV Modeller offerings (David Parker) do look really nice.

I was coming home from the dentist today and spotted a toy shop in town, so I went in, in the hope they sold Tamiya extra thin as some idiot knocked mine over and spilt a third of it. (ie me!) alas nope, they don't but they do sell model kits.

So I had a good look and the surprising thing is that they only sell Airfix, they must have had 40-50 Airfix kits and not even one by a different manufacturer.. how odd!

but, that said.. I did buy something, well.. my excuse is that I don't have any ships in my stash so needed to fix that!

Something for the kitbash / scratch building projects - Lego!

I've tried getting my son to part with some of his mountain but with no success, so I got a 1kg lucky bag from Ebay. The first thing I did wash to wash it all. Lord knows how many snotty kids mouths it's been in.

The blocks & plates will be handy for demountable joints, it's perfectly square so could make a good base for a build, there's plenty of random bits to add as detail, and being a form of styrene it'll glue with model cement and cut & sand easily.

Lego is ABS, though, so it probably won’t glue too well with normal model cement. Superglue probably works well enough, and else there’s this:

Superglue with a kind of marking pen with activator, which I suppose is a similar kind of thing to the adhesion promoter for paint we were talking about in another thread :) You can even securely glue polythene parts together with it, is my experience. (Oh, and you only need to buy a set like this once, until the marker runs out anyway — the activator will work fine with “regular” superglue as well.)

I have to disagree with you there. In my tests it seems to weld perfectly well with TET, but I do have some of that 2 part CA if I need it.
