Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2026)

I had to pop to the shops to get a few bits in, and I pass by my local model shop on the way, so I popped in, just to buy a jar of Tamiya paint for an upcoming build.....

But, I am also a bit "flush" after selling some stuff from one of my other hobbies.... dangerous as we know......

So instead of coming out with one small jar of paint, I came out with these....

Plus a few extra jars of paint, not just the one! Lol....
Nice haul Pete

I think a bargain, 4 mahogany plinths.
20 x 10 cm, £4.50 each. Just need a light sand and stain. Ideal for pedestals to display a ship

Saw by accident on Facebook, tamiya do plastic sheet with masking tape, ideal for ships hulls, especially 1 / 200. Plus VMS liquid mask

Mr. Etzel is a very accomplished diorama creator who is well known to many of this forum's members. I'd love to know how many of his works are in the book.

Paul there are 4 of his dioramas in the book that I think most people who have followed his work in the past will recognise and two of my builds.

As I have built a few ICM kits in the past, I bought the xtradecals set for this one and due to the acers of glass, the Eduard masks for them.

Apologies for no photos, I still can't upload as yet
Just received the Italeri re-issue of the old Supermodel CANT Z.1007, and it IS just a re-issue. Unlike the upgraded Z.506 and SM.81, which had interior detail added and inscrbed panel lines (even where the real S.81 doesn't have them!), the Z.1007 is simply the old kit. With raised panel lines!
It does include both single and twin tails, and a nice transfer sheet for six schemes, including one for a Corpo Aereo Italiano for the Battle of Britain

The Supermodel kit needs a LOT of work to make accurate, so I was hoping Italeri had done SOMETHING to the kit, as there's no alternative to start from. Disappointing

Sad to read that Steve, bought some disappointing kits myself a few years ago and since then I'm always looking for reviews (scalemates) before buying a new kit...

We had some local postoffice strikes last weeks, so this one got stuck for a while but finally arrived today 🙏
Mr Marlow did recommend this kit (at least the same sprues) a few times so looking forward to it 🖌Steven_Zero_48_001.webp
