just got this for a quid at the local charity shop, they had it up for a fiver but there's no glass, chrome or tyres in it .... so she asked me to "donate" £1 and take it home as is.

the missing bits dont matter as i've been wanting a donor to do a "post apocolyptic" Mad Max type jobbie for some time now. i'll get some chunky tyres for it from the cheapo shops and use mesh for the glass .. anything else can just be scratched up.

A little trip to Hobby Craft today netted me these...

One to be put aside for the Helicopters GB maybe.

Had a look in the box for this one and it is seriously tiny!!!

Got these for me and the kids to do. The Typhoon is mine, Spitfire chosen by my eldest (seven years old) and the Tempest by my youngest (almost 5). With only around 20 parts each I'm sure we'll be able to rattle these out over a rainy weekend.

Just picked up the Trumpeter 1/35 scale BR52 Kreigslokomotive. Never built an engine before as I mainly look at WWII tanks and aircraft, but looking forward to having a crack at this one in some odd way!:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Ben in case you are not aware, the current issue of Airfix magazine has part 1 of a review of this kit. The next issue (due out on 5th Jan) has part two. I'd be happy to post you copies of the appropriate pages if you don't want to buy the mags themselves. I'm getting these because I shall one day build the bus myself, when my skills are more honed. All that gloss paint!!!!! All those windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All those nightmares!

cheers Aidan,

Ive got the current issue of the Airfix magazine which was a great insight into the model before i had even got it, no doubt that's what my girlfriend thought she would buy it instead of me pondering over the book :P

aha don't get me worrying already although im thinking certain bits are going to be a pain but ill hopefully work through them!

Ill see if my local news agents stock the magazine as there's so much other little bits in there to read as well. I got my first copy from a shop near my girlfriends, If i can't get hold of the second magazine from my local shop ill give you a PM :) Cheers for the offer Aidan very kind

Ben please post hundreds of pictures of the build so poor, inexperienced, wimpish, insecure, lacking-in-self-esteem, new to the game, modellers (me!) can benefit from your experinces. I'm particularly interested in the paint jopb and how you tackle it. So no pressure frome me!!!

Hi all, haven't been on for a while, mainly as I've actually been doing some model making !!!! I know, hope that didn't cause you to fall off your chairs..... :)

Anyway, for Xmas was given the new Airfix Swordfish. Anyone else got it? Isn't it the best thing since sliced bread? I think so ! In fact, the only problem I can see with it is that I'm going to have to get another to get a Mk2 ( which will complete the set.....one day !), and then another to show the wongs folded, then another in a nice pre-war scheme, then another....

Cheers, Neil
