Thats a pretty good kit that Rich. I built one a while back. I did the Panther 'cause it looked good.

What are you going for if I may ask.

Something bland and RAF. I'd like to do the current grey scheme but I'll need one of the Tonka warriors to advise what theexternal differences are between the GR1 and GR4.

Externally the GR4 has a chin FLIR fairing under the nose and one less cannon than the GR1. Other differences were internal:

142 x Tornado GR-1s were upgraded to GR4 standard under the Tornado Mid-Life Update (MLU) programme costing some £943m. Deliveries began in 1998 and were completed by the end of 2003. Compared to the GR1, the GR4 has a Forward-Looking Infra-Red (FLIR), a wide angle Head-Up Display (HUD), improved cockpit displays, Night-Vision Goggle (NVG) compatibility, new avionics and weapons systems, updated computer software, and Global Positioning System (GPS).

Got this from the much maligned eBay for £12 inc postage

Its a fine-looking kit, comes with indy link tracks, some PE, and major parts like the hull & turret come in their own bags to prevent scratches!

There's about 10 separate sprue trees so this isn't a weekend build!

Cheers

Patrick
