Neil, you have done some really nice weathering effects around that left front wheel arch. Did it take a lot of effort to achieve such realistic results? :)

slightly off thread but at Telford yesterday i noticed a huge queue at a certain model retailers stall buying up kits and collecting orders. a very well known retailer i might add. i had a look at some of the kits that were on "offer". i then turned round 180 degrees and noticed that the other guy was selling the same kits at five or ten pounds cheaper and yet he was not particularly busy. do people buy from big name boys just because they think they are getting a good deal. a gentleman stood next to me picked up a kit and was waiting to pay. i told him quietly that the exact kit was available four steps away for ten pounds less and he just shrugged his shoulders and carried on.

i just don't get the mentality of some people.

That FAMO, John will look much better on my shelf than it will in your stach, lol.

Nice one ;)

Hi Ian I have wanted one of these (famo)from the 1st time I saw them but just couldn't justify the asking price and after walking around Telford all day yesterday without buying anything I was to return home with empty arms and I couldn't bring myself to walk out of the building so this was one of the things I blew my whole budget on in the last hour of the show and I had a chuckle to myself on the way home thinking I resisted all day only to fall at the final hurdle. piggy bank is empty but Cosfords a fair few months away so I will be saving my pennies

Just a small haul for me, some good bargains though, the Igor kit only cost £50 I have seen this go for £69, the Heartbreaker kit is usually £39.99 and I paid £25. The F4 is an early Christmas present from my friend Rob, I got him the FA2 Sea Harrier,,, well I think it was that :)

The powder is amazing in my opinion, instead if brushing out PVA to stick down grass or ballast etc, you mix a small amount with the material you want to stick down, sprinkle it on the surface to be covered and then use a mist spray of water and it sets instantly, as fast as CA!!!!

I have the Walrus in my stash, I got it out and put it back when I saw the amount of flash on it :( Adrian
i must have got a good one there's only a bit on the tail of mine and some on the smaller parts the rest is petty clear

I have just two kits from the kit swap : Mengs T90 for 25 quid (!) and a Lynx for 12 quid. I bought some tools as well along with a magic Gyro Cut -http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8l3Hay_m9q0

I had two more kits in my hands but I just thought that I have 7 kits awaiting and decided to put them back. I'm so proud of myself:)

I bought loads of modelling bits and pieces at Telford, but only one kit.The 1/48 Walrus.I bought it off the MPM stall.None of the kits had prices on them.I asked how much it was and was told £37.50.I said I had seen it cheaper on another stall and the price dropped to £35.I said no and put it back on the shelf. Then the man said £30,so I bought it.I think its a reboxed Classic Airframes kit.Hope it goes together better than the Anson.Lots of nice resin and etch included for the interior. But there are no locating holes for any of the wing struts.Im going to have fun with this!.I will do a build thread so you can all share in my frustrations and cock ups!.View attachment 205242

Couldn't make Telford this year so today looked on fleabay and got this little bundle

ebay.co.uk/itm/151450358171?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I know the box is a bit battered and a figure has gone AWOL from one of the figure kits but bought new I think this lot would have come in quite a bit more than the price I paid. I already have ideas for most of it after xmas.

That's the one I wanted but went for the cheepo not so detailed and I have it complete in a couple of days :D

I'm looking forward to seeing yours and I'm sure you'll do a great job :)
