More sincere thanks guys. This is definitely more in my ball park than aircraft.

Here is my bust just about finished.

Not sure about the base, I will contemplate it before I finally glue everything. This has been a fun project with an outstanding sculpt to work from.

Thanks Peter and Scottie much appreciated.

I'm off for a bit now as, like many Canadians, we're heading down to Florida for another month of sunshine before the arctic weather sets in for real.

Beautifully done. Stay away from any red/purple algae. You don't want to even breath the air near it. Some strains are extremely toxic. Enjoy the sun. PaulE

Wow, John, that's an impressive finish mate. Enjoy your stay in the hotter regions chap!

Cheers

Beautiful John...I for one would like to take a break from the sun. :smiling6:

Cheers,

Absolutely stunning John. A terrific way to sign off before your holiday. Enjoy the break and avoid the storms:thumb2::thumb2:

Like the other guys said stunning work.We are blessed with some talented painters on here.
Great work.

Thanks Tim.

OK he has now been oiled up, as it were. Of course a photo cannot show all the subtleties that oils allow but I think the general effect is there. It is still shiny so more will become apparent when I apply the mat varnish.

A blast from the past. I keep stumbling on the most aMAZing work on this forum - the eyes! This is some astoundingly good work - bravo!

Thanks to PaulinKendal, I just spotted this, had a read through.........I absolutely admire your work with oils.......you are truly in your element John :thumb2: Rick H.

Me too!!! Absolutely incredible painting skills and originality in the base design. Mr. B, this work of art should be in a museum on display for the world to see!!!

Thanks guys I appreciate your kind comments. You know the older you get the more skilled you USED to be, at least that is the story I tell.
