A rough average is between 5 and 51/2 tons, I would guess that is across the whole range of Mk.VI tanks.

The tracks are on and what fun, a link short on each side, but that will be rectified. Tow rope added and a start on the weathering...
Yes that is rust showing through, the desert was not all sand and sunshine - think of cold nights and morning dew...

This is looking superb Mike. Sometimes I wish I had the room to work in a larger scale but then Braille scale can hide a multitude of sins!

Hi Mike looks better every time, bummer about the track link, have you accidentally bent the rear spare wheel strut or is it deliberate, I'm not being critical of your work the opposite I'm not in in any position or skilled enough for that.

Pete,
You had me searching for ages looking for the spare wheel strut. If you mean the item that is in front of the spare wheel on the left side. It is for the tow rope to wrap around and to hold the 'jack' in place, and I see what you mean :smiling4: . The rear bracket is actually bent more that the front one. This was cause by trying to wrap the tow rope around the brackets - first the rear bracket came away (so much for c/a), then I had to re cement that on but in the meantime the 'rope' that was wrapped around it had hardened, so that could not be removed :confounded:... So a blob of c/a was put in the place where the bracket was originally fixed and the whole lot held down untill the c/a did the job it was meant to in the first place. The rope was finally wrapped around the brackets and well spotted by you, I forgot to check they were the same. You were not being critical, and I thank you for picking up on it. The illustration from the destructions show this clearer, but the kit version looks as though it is designed to hold back the Titanic, so got changed for the brass version. On a lot of the MkVIB's, the crews had a bracket bolted on behind this to hold the spare wheel which was just dropped in and left to fend for itself. As for the track link that is now a whole track with the odd link firmly in place. I used the template I have but did not think the length of tape I added would in fact make it a shorter track length - note to self to leave well enough alone.

I am now calling this one finished (almost). The build itself is complete, although like all builds you keep looking an thinking should you add a bit more. There is more to add, but this is just additions like the burner can for brewing the tea and I may even add a crew once I get the next build out of the way. So it is off to the completed section. Many thanks for looking in - the comments, as always very welcome. And as always any questions feel free to ask away.
