How many builds do you have on the go at the moment mate? Another great update and good luck with the figures

Scratch building macaques Richard? Sounds like a lot of monkey business.....
I might just call it that Graeme.
Richard,

Sorry for behind on this. Very, very well done indeed so far. Will love to see how the Macaques turn out.

ATB.

Andrew
No worries Andrew, with my inconsistent bench time on each of my builds you'd be wondering when the next installment will be.

Too many Steve, counting this it's eight. Thanks.

Cheers,

Didn't have much bench time today and only did some positioning of the armatures and discovered making them with twisting two wires is better than the ones I have done up...

I found that drilling holes and gluing the wire arms wasn't holding and tended to turn where else the full wire makes sure it doesn't. All it needs is putty for the chest and pelvic region.

Richard

Very cool monkeys.
Thanks Paul, still have to detail their faces and body. Incidentally I've done monkeys before...remember the two little kids on the steps? Good practice.:tears-of-joy:

Just did the tree tops and laid on a first coat of base greens. At the moment the right side is a little heavy with the overhang and needs to be pulled back or trimmed.

Also its a bit too high in the middle which can be pulled and the wires cut shorter so that the left clump of leaves can connect to the left corner undergrowth. Must save space for the bamboo and banana trees. Will slowly pile things up and prune as I go like a mini bonzai.

Cheers,
Richard

Looks rather "Jungley" as is Richard.......wouldn't want it to look like the garden at "Race Towers", those monkeys wouldn't know how to act if it was too "tidy"!:smiling5:

Good to see this back Richard. Thought I had missed at it would turn up at some point in the future when you do a re run of previous builds.

Hi guys,

The truck sits nicely on there Richard, the foliage is coming along nicely.
Thanks Graeme, although you say it sits nicely, I'm still uneasy about the color of the truck as the blue makes it stand out like a sore thumb.
Hi Richard
That is coming on very well indeed.
Jim
Thanks Jim, so far so good.
Richard,
This is turning into a great scene mate.
Thanks Scottie, it is evolving also and might get some alterations along the way. Seeing new angles I never thought of as it progresses.

Paul, they'd be wondering where all the swinging vines have gone, what funny edible flowers he has and a little swimming pool with lily pads and fish that you could stand in.:smiling6:

Good to have it back John R, slowly retracing how I did my previous jungle. This one is rather overgrown and in slightly cooler climate in the hills. I'm working on the other dios as well to clear space for other ideas.

Rough monkey heads done yesterday along with adding body to the armatures...

Once I've sculpted enough I'll try to cast them to make more. Would be nice to have a troop of them in the trees.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard
Those monkey heads are excellent. They should be straightforward to cast and it's worth doing for any future monkey needs.
Jim

Richard, those are some top notch "primates!! Make sure you have plenty of bananas on hand to keep them out of mischief! :smiling: ;) :thumb2: Rick H.

Looking good Richard. Love the monkey heads especially. Truck sits well, but looks a little clean and bright…..

Thanks Jim, Rick and Tim,

They weren't that difficult to sculpt having near human like features...just scaled a lot down to size but casting takes a lot of time off the sculpt process if I want dozens of these.

Cleaned out the grocers of their stock...replenishing tomorrow. Good thing we have variety here as these guys are fussy. :tears-of-joy:

I'll need to alter some of their expressions with some showing teeth. Truck still needs more painting and attention. The blue is something I need to tackle and it is a bit tricky to weather as these trucks were only recently acquired and repainted blue so the itch to over weather has to be curtailed to a certain extent. Perhaps rain streaks and caked damp dust in the corners plus the muddy tyres might do the trick.

This dio sure has lots more to do and I have to compartmentalise each section to detail or I'll go wonky. Sooner or later these sections will overcome the water effects which I thought was going to be the more difficult process. I already don't like the straight road and might just curve it after the bridge.

Cheers,
Richard
