Just heard from a friend that Mike who is over here from France has had a car crash and is in Yeovil Hospital.
Suffered severe bruising on his left side and broken hand.

I'm sure we all wish him the best for his recovery and may it be a speedy one.

Thanks for letting us know John. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery. Could have been worse I suppose but not what he wanted on his trip back to the old country.
Jim

Thanks Jim, Tony, & Richard.
Have received a text from Mike a short while ago, he's being discharged from hospital today.
Seems he was very lucky indeed.
Hopefully he will post soon.

Bugger just read this... if I new Mike was in YDH I could of popped in, it's only a 5 minute drive from my house!
Speedy recovery Mike!

Good Afternoon to you All,
Firstly thank you for all your kind comments.
My partner and the other driver, plus myself were thankfully not seriously injured. Tim the other driver
had a bang on the nose and was released later that evening. I broke a couple of bones in my right hand, seat belt bruising......yellow,
purple and black. Scan yesterday, hand clinic tomorrow, keep you guys in the loop on the results.
Was chatting to the Fire Officer while they were preparing to cut the roof off, if in a smaller car, injuries would have been more serious.
Believe it or not the car is a Mercedes Estate.20200302_144221.jpg
Frontal......all involved very lucky.

The now modified estate to a soft top.........

The Fire Brigade were brilliant as were the police. The ambulance service were amazing, former matloe's with both ambulance and fire service.
When they found out I was a former Bootneck...... oh dear the banter flew thick and fast.......
Can not return to France until the pot if off my arm.

This will be taken off tomorrow when at the clinic, probably a new one on later......

I'll up date you when I get news tomorrow.

Thanks to John for informing the Forum.

Thankfully I'm left handed, and as of yet not dived into the Mosquito box yet.

Cheers Mike

PS Am staying in Ilchester for the for seable future before I return to France

Wow Mike glad you're all reasonably in tact, that's one hell of a bump.

Glad you guys weren't seriously hurt Mike. Mercedes is a pretty well built auto and did it's job. Take care and hope to see you get home, heal up and back to moggelling soon….

Just saw this Mike and am glad it wasn't very serious. I know the Mercedese is tough but try not to get to Hogwarts on the wrong platform and wall. Thanks for the update and John for the posting.

Cheers,
Richard
