Anyone got any info on these kits like the quality, do they build well and are they a good buy. Asking because I was looking at some vehicles in their range that I quite fancy and have never seen one in the flesh.

Andy.

Hi Andy can't speak for the jumbo scale stuff but the 72nd is some of the best I've built ,but I'll always stick by my own adage of if its what I want to build ill build it irrespective of manufacturer, im not saying I've never been bit on the bum but sometimes putting the time in is all part of the end product enjoyment. 20200812_172205.jpg

All in 72nd straight out of the box I see no reason for their large scale to be any diffrent just dive the waters never that cold. Dave
PS they come with metal barrels as well I didnt use them as detail on cooling jacket was better in plastic.

Got to agree with Dave on the 1/72 front.

Have almost finished one of their T-90s. It's very detailed and definitely not a 'quick-build' kit

Have one of their 128mm Flak guns. Not started it yet but it looks lovely in the sprue.

In short, highly recommend.

Interesting. I've never heard of Model Collect but just had a look at their stuff for sale in SMS. Certainly some unusual subjects and very reasonably priced. David and Andrew praise the kits so definitely worth a go.

Also, to add, whilst mine didn't come with a metal barrel it did come with a metal hull, which was as detailed as any plastic hull I've seen. Not sure what I think of metal hulls bit it does give it a nice 'heft'.

The only build issues I had on mine were entirely of MY own making.

Hope that helps.

I built one Modelcollect model, but that was a 1:72 AGM-86 cruise missile so it may not say much about their AFV kits. However, it looks well-detailed and went together well enough, though it didn’t just fall together either.

Thanks to all for the information, I did look at videos of some of their models and they looked OK but it's nice to get first hand opinions on here. I am not really interested in the AFV side, more the military trucks and believe it or not I fancy a wee trip down the 1/72 scale lane! :surprised:

We used to do really well with Model Collect, I had 4 suppliers but from what I can gather MC took their money and didn't deliver the goods, it's a real shame as they are good kits, but I don't know anyone in the UK that can get anything new from them.

That's shocking....

As you can see these are cracking kits ,I did see a world of tanks review build of a 35th model collect kit the chap couldn't praise it enough so the jumbo stuff seems OK as well. Dave

It’s a BMP-3 :) All you need to do is paint a white Z on the sides and rear, and it’s highly topical.

Dave

i had a very quick search on the supply issues that John mentioned and found something on the Henk of Holland site where they said the moulds had given up...... Still no excuse for taking the money and not supplying goods.

I've spent a lot of time there too!!! Far too much. For figures I find Plastic Soldier Review very good too...... Especially as they review artillery pieces and the like because they come with crews.

Thanks all you have to like these little conversations we've all propheted from it ,some of the guys never knew they existed, ,thoes that have built were only positive about the company ,John has informed us that apparently a right rum lot they've taken the money and done a runner ,for thoes that fancy a little break from the big bits Henkofholland web site is a good place to start there's in box/build/pics of finished model of nearly every 72nd kit out there as for me ,looking at the pics of the BMP3 (sorry didn't know what it was probably just built it because I liked the box art)next build im going back to grey primer and pre shading with nato black like I used to rather than try using the newish fad of black primer to do the job. Once again everybody how enjoyable was that. Dave

Andy whilst going through the stash pulled this out as you can see plenty in the box and as I've said for thoes that dont want to get dirty their pretty much shake"n"bake
