Rightly or wrongly, I get the impression that some of you do not like Model Zone. I wa in there today, I needed some CA glue fast.

Nevertheless, they have a deal on this week: Tamiya paints are 3 for 2 and many kits are 3 for 2 - it seems that all the AIrfix 1:72 kits were/are 3 for 2. If anyone lives nearby, a bargain might be had.

I love modelzone online and check it everyday , this year I`ve managed to pick up a tamiya 1/12 Wolf F1 car with pe for £50 normal retail is between £85-£100 , similr ford focus for £19.99 retails at £45 , some major bargins to be had if you keep a look out and you won`t catch me knocking them .

Thanks for the heads up.

I like Modelzone myself, although I've only used the one at Lakeside.I also like Hannants who also seem to be disliked by some.Ive had discounted kits and good service from both shops.I always use Hannants for decals and after market bits. Some people think they are expensive but that's not been my experience.I bought the 1/48 Classic Airframes Anson from them recently.Cost £28 inc postage. One I bid for on eBay went for way more than that.

I like modelzone too but the nearest to me is some 27 miles away and this is unfair

The last time I went they had the 1/72nd German U-Boats for just £5 a pop!!!

I love modelzone, staff are always polite and helpful without being pushy. On one occassion, a part was missingfrom a kit I bought from there, Revell couldn't replace as the kit was out of production. Modelzone replaced the part from another kit even tho I hadn't got a receipt. I always try and praise them

Im often in the ipswich branch, and have been to lakeside and bluewater branches in the past.

Cheers, Andrew

I also like my local Modelzone shop, the staff are always helpful and the shelves have a good selection of kits to choose from, my only gripe is that I feel they should stock some of the more hard to get kits from makers such as Amusing hobby and Riich models and Hobbyboss.

Other than that, I am more than happy with our local Modelzone, we also have a decent GeeDee model store, so modellers in Nottingham have a...not so bad a selection, plus what you cant get in the shops, you can get of the net!

Nearest to me is 1/2mile away..na nah ne na nah.....lol

I generally stick my head in whenever i'm passing, but haven't had a really decent bargain from there in a while.

12 months ago not a week went by without some real serious discounting, they were virtually giving Academy & Dragon kits away. I think the discounts will really ramp up again near Xmas.

I dare not go there at the moment, I'm keeping all my pennies for Scale Model World

Mines at the metro centre 35 odd miles away. Still the train stops there. Going to make my first visit after Xmas.

Went to my local ModelZone in Reading, they have a 3 for 2 on Tamiya, Humbrol paints I think it also includes Vallejo Revell paints.

The 3 for 2 is on a lot of stuff if you check out their website. You can even mix and match!!!

I've predominately used Modelzones Norwich branch since I returned to modelling 2 years ago and have got some real bargains the last being the FW190 which I bought online with a 20% discount. Hannants Lowestoft branch is not far from me and I've bought a few things from them but find their website a real pain to navigate.

I found the meadowhall Sheffield modelzone very friendly and helpful and certainly not pushy.

At that time they had the airfix mosquito big un for, i think £50 ish amazing bargain, if only I'd had the display room and it'd been a plane i preferred, i posted it on here at the time.

Hannants have amazing selections and prices really aren't bad, however, their website and online store front is terrible and a nightmare to search and navigate, a company that big should pay a decent design company.
