Hi, I am a swedish model maker and my first question here will be: How would you make a camouflage print on a plane? I have tried making custom waterslide print but I would like to not have the transparent parts also go on the plane. In my mind I would like a film that I could print on and then somehow transfer only the paint if you know what I mean? Like "gnuggisar" (Swedish) Is there such a product?

Looking forward to be part of this community :)

Hi and welcome,
I prefere airbrushing the camo with the help of masking putty (like 'blu-tack'), paper stencils or masking tape.

Painting with a brush can also work fine, but dilute the paint and add multiple thin coats.

Using decals for camo would be my very last choice. Cheers

Welcome

I can think of a way where the paint is in suspension on water and you 'dip' the item you want covering but not sure how it would work on a plastic model and it would be extremely expensive...... Cheaper to buy a decent air brush and learn how to use it

Welcome Ninna

One thing I can think of is to have waterslide decals printed (or print them yourself) then carefully cut away as much of the excess transparent film as you can, before application.

Search for 'decal paper', which you can print the pattern you want and then use it like the decals provided in a kit. As Andy T said, you'll need to cut around the pattern to limit the amount of excess.

Hej! And welcome.
Is it the Swedish splinter camouflage you wish to create?
There are mask sets for the most common airframe paintedin that pattern.
Alternativ is to print the design on decal paper.
