I have had a go at making the generator. This will be driven by a belt attached to the transfer box later. It still needs a final clean up.

Jeep PTO. This is Spicer type, the other type(?)has a bent shifter.

Had to have a magnifyer attached to another magnifyer to see this...looks the beezness even without paint.👍

Paul, is this in addition to the other three selectors. which I would imagine are gears, high/low range and 2/4 wheel drive
 
Yeah Scottie, plus handbrake. A handsful. At least they are separated a bit & the shifter is taller. I wonder if the PTO came with a hand throttle or did all Jeeps have them? The Jeep I used to plow snow out of residential drive ways had one, so did the Jeep COE towtruck we used.

Work on the lathe is commencing well. The bed is made as are the saddle, compound and top slide. There are still details to add. Then it will be the head and tail stocks.

The lathe is progressing nicely and so far I am pretty happy. The headstock and tail stock have been added.
