Awesome work on the shark and nice start to the Zero Monica. Wouldn't want to see your version of a large fish if that is a small fish then!

I guess this guy isn't going to get fish and chips for tea? Nice sculpting work Monica. I'm not sure a fighter like the Zero would have carried a life raft, normally the pilot would have been limited to a life jacket/preserver. Not to say though that he hasn't been thrown a raft from a rescue aircraft, or Tony's float plane hasn't pulled up alongside and thrown one out. Either way he won't have a raft for long if Jaws gets his way :)

hi Joe, thank you,I think he maybe dinner  very good point,i think your absolutely right, i was trying to find out if, there did carry life rafts, I know the Germans did,

well maybe in steed , have him on the wing with the shark biting at that ? hows that sound ?

Well I tried a search, and one site describing how the Americans got their hands on their first flyable Zero describes that "The pilot had a parachute and a life raft.” So all good to stay as it is I reckon. http://www.texasflyinglegends.org/kogas-zero

Looks good Monica, I think the raft was canvas so a dirty yellow/sand colour might be the way to go.

Thread owner
think your right Joe , just do it like that some type off burnt yellow thing

Very good Monica.

It's coming out quick and good. Looking for the base now.

hi ,Francesco, thank you, just need to add the decals, and a little bit off weathering ,then the base ,just use some resin in a tub, and cut it out, like how SI did, ;)

thanks for stopping by SI, glad you like it

One tip when adding bullet holes Moni, in air-combat you never get a straight line. The vibration, attacking aircraft and victim ducking and weaving means you get one hole in the tail, four in a wing, one on the fuselage etc. They are very random, especially fighter kills-100 bullets fired 10%-20% approx will strike the airframe. Just a note for when you do another.

thank you SI, not to late to fill and move them about ;) and will note that one down,as i did mostly , wont close to the engine area, and that sent her into the drink

Don't forget to gently heat the ends of the propellers and twist that they get when they strike. On water you will get one or two that will slightly bent and one that will be just going or normal-the energy of impact is slowed and displaced more in water but still a wind-milling prop skimming the water will bend it like mad. I reckon the story behind this plane is he got caught, lacking the armour the Zero got hit, lucky strike on the engine area, he dove away into cloud-nobody following him, but he got a glycol/oil leak, pressure dropped and he brought it down for a crash landing. :D

Si:)
