Not a particular genre or band but It’s 6Music for me. Steve Lamacq & Mark Radcliffe are still going strong, I’ve been listening to them for 28 years on and off. Some of the newer & stand in DJs are pretty good too, Huw Stevens, Amy Lame, Gemma Cairney, Huey Morgan and the legendary Iggy Pop - yes. Iggy Pop.
However, I am really enjoying Public Service Broadcasting’s latest album Bright Magic.
Or if there a match on its 5live.

I used to love the Mark and Lard show when I came off of late shift many years ago. One of the great lost radio shows to me. Fantastic mix of music and poetry. Why they went to Radio one breakfast is beyond me (apart from the money natch). Absolutely no fit at all.

Lard (AKA Marc Riley) does the evening slot after Lamacq, I listen now and again and he gets some good bands in session - The Beths are another current favourite courtesy of the Boy Lard.
There are quite a few new bands coming out of Ireland, Australia, NZ and the US being given air time by 6Music, Amyl & the Sniffers, The Linda Linda’s and the Pillow Queens….if you like that kind of thing.

Suffice to say i know have to go and put the original Metallica version on just to un-frazzle my tiny warped brain.

Sorry Tim but. Metallica - Nothing else Matters is one of my favourite song ever. The guitar solo at the end, although short, just makes me want to grab my guitar and pretend i'm James Hetfield

I know mate, just yanking your chain….I used to gig enter Sandman back when my hands still worked…..never really got my hands around the solo though, probably because I like heavy strings and high action, not super lights. Can’t even remember the chords now…..

Didn't say it does really mate - i have an eclectic taste in music - from 14th Century Portuguese mariners songs, to my scrote mate singing 'Streets of London' for a few bob on the London Underground, to the Sergeants Mess version of 'Eskimo Nell'! Thence through a whole tranche of different genres! Hmm! Hope I didn't cause offence!

Definitely Lee. Brain needs to be in gear thinking planning. No interruption. If music was on i would not hear it

However come 12:00am until 2:00am all music on phones. Every type from Classic to George Formby (Dr Hook).

Just love Rodriga's Concerta de Aranjuez. John Williams on guitar.

Favourite of all time but got to be played English style with great depth using crescendo & decrescendo.
Sir Edward Elgar's Nimrod. It has all the emotions.

But how about this. Damned exciting. Look at the pleasure on old & young faces. Great to see.
All played by young musicians just superb..Holst.

Superb in every way. What a location. Masterclass filming & editing.

Just gonna play it again.

It reminds me of that someone once (about 30 years ago) told me of an album some artist released, which consisted of two tracks: the A-side apparently had one note played exactly in the middle of the side, the B-side had two. I don’t remember who it was by, but if I had to start somewhere, it was probably a metal artist given the musical tastes of the person who told me about this.
