Seasons not that much of an issue, but in winter you only go out when needed ie; to clear snow, bring in wood, hunt etc.. but I do have modeling projects I'd like to do. Just need to structure my time a bit. Fishing is on now so have to make time for that also, but being retired there's plenty of time for everything even the Mrs................Jim;)

Glad to hear the Mojo is still strong Ron! My problem is too many builds and its always summer here basically. I have to divide my time between flying RC planes ,building plastic or making Balsa dust! I've got too many projects! 1/7 scale RC P-40,plastic 1/100 747 and wrapping up a 1/7 scale F7F Tigercat on the bench and I just ordered a kit to be cut from plans for a 114" span RC Ta-152 . Then I look at all the kits in the stash and just shake my head ,I'm gonna run outa time before I hit the bottom of the pile for sure!

With weather like this and four motorcycles to choose from I'm afraid modelling is a lot lower down the pecking order! Then when I'm back at home a cold beer on the patio while I look across the fields and listen to the birds does it for me. All too soon it will be chucking it down again, then the modelling might just get a look in!

Just been to B & Q. Bought two fans. One for her in the lounge one for me in my model room.

She only wants to stay in. :D

I want to stay in to make models. :D

54 years years married to day. o_O

Both very cool and happy.

Forgot card. Black mark but have given her, Pauline that is wife of Laurie , of 54 years choice of celebration venue for Sunday Lunch. ;)

Feel like a good boy now

Laurie :D :D:D

PS marriage day July 61 hottest day for 14 years. In church perspiration dropping from my shoulder blades (weighed then 8stone 12 lbs) on to my backside

Congratulations Laurie, you are well ahead of me and mine on 54 years, almost double in fact. Enjoy the fans and enjoy your celebratory lunch!

Did we have global warming in 1961....I think not. When I was at school a few years after that the current scare story was a new ice age. We were all supposed to be under a kilometre of ice by 2050 :)

Cheers

Thanks Steve very kind. A glass will be raised to you boys back here (very small sip actually).

Think it was the very wet in the nether regions age. Temperature around 32 degrees. I was soaked.

The last ice age occurred in the winter of 1947 ice and snow covered the roads and pavements for about 6weeks with out a break.

Remember it well as even the snowmen complained about frost bite. :D

I have vague memories of the '62-'63 winter. We were living in Rhoose at the time and I do remember a lot of snow and that the sea froze. It was definitely balls off brass monkeys weather :)

Cheers

I remember in 85 it snowed in June , the only thing false about climate change is man is causing it !

Oh yes. Arrived in Jersey to live March 2nd 1962. Came over on a Dakota they called them Dakmasters.

Captain came on during the flight.

"Do not worry the bangs are lumps of ice falling off the wings and hitting the fuselage".

Well now this was my first flight. Up hill to get to your seat plus the Murray Mint given out for ear popping.

Mints were nice but did nothing to alleviate the excruciating ear pain.

63 was worse except for plumbers.

Today was a balmy 24deg C much like most of Europe I hear mid thirties promised for the next few days...

I think it's a chair in the shade and listen to the sky larks try to out sing each other.

Congrats on the wedding anniversary Laurie hope you enjoy the lunch.

Congrats on the wedding anniversary Laurie! Whats this 'snow' you all speak of?

Thanks Trey.

Not so much snow as ice. The fan was so good I am now living in it worried about frost bite. Got the fan from --- go on guess--- and it is brilliant with a whole host of settings. Just feels like air cooling but on the cheap. Multi tasking makes a good hair dryer.

The room I use for modelling is part underground at the back of the house and is the coolest place in the house, you can really feel the increase in temperature as you go upstairs.

So with that and nothing but Wimbledon on BBC1 and 2, a lot of modelling and painting is being done.

(When not sitting outside the local bar with a cold Belgian beer watching the world go by.)

Well my planes for the day are ruined , this claim of a month of really hot weather lasted two days lol

Still it's given me time on that jeep :D

Six months into the year and I've completed two builds. Good weather has distracted me. A day off today found me draining and cleaning a pond and filters. No sprues were handled today...............
