My niece is doing WWII at school, and she realy likes the Spitfire. So she gave me a Airfix 1/72 Mk 1 to build, but she said " I don't want the colours on the picture ", so I asked her what colours do you want ! Well here it is.

Thanks guy's it was a fun little build. She really loves it.

:cool::eek::eek: Wow , looks great ian , cheers tony

I love it. If you'd done it for her in those colours without asking her first, it would have been gender stereotyping at its worst!

Then again, I am wondering - what would you normally use those colours for ?

For the Pink I used 1 part red ( Vallejo 71.102 ) to 2 parts White ( Vallejo 71.001 ).
And for the purple I used 50/50 red ( 71.102 ) blue ( 71.088 French blue ) then just added some white to lighten the colours for the post shading Colin.

Sorry Colin that answer was not what you were looking for, I'd miss read it but posted it before I realised, its my age.
I wouldn't normaly use those colours honest.

Excellent work Ian. The weathering is spot on. Clean look with subtle weathering has done wonders on this model.
