I have, so far found and merged three threads on man-cave/workstation showing.

Hopefully we can now keep them down to one. This one :)

I've just gone through this thread(s) again. I have to say I'm amazed at the ingenuity some people show to make the best of what's available to them. I'm lucky to have my own space now, but like many I've worked on everything from a tray on my knees to a computer table in the front room which I had to pack away every evening.

In the end it doesn't matter where you build, just so long as you build :)

Cheers

Steve

I have a huge shed set up as my model room but I still like to bring my builds up so I can sit in front of the telly with the family and build on the coffee table. The only downer to this is that I always forget something and have to run down the stairs to get it, oh and when company come over and see all my mess on the coffee table.

I just asked the wife if she minded if I did some modelling on the coffee table (solid oak, polished thing). I'm guessing that the "your balls will be stuck to the table if you even try" look suggests it's a non-starter for me. Man cave it is then.

You got off lightly Aaron!

I reckon I'd be walking with a limp and singing falsetto (or should that be castrato?)

Cheers

Steve

Yes it is very nice to have your own space. Moved in to a two bed flat, whoops one bed and model room, heaven after working in a garage in the winter with the wind and even snow bellowing thro the gaps around the door.

I just could not model in the same room as my dear wife. A concoction of Coronation Street, EastEnders would drive me totally to distraction. She loves me being in MY room as she can then watch everything she likes and everything I hate. A very happy situation. :D

Totally agree Laurie exactly all the reasons why I migrated to the loft space in our house not the most pleasant spot as it's very cold this time of year I sit huddled around an electric heater with plenty of layers on and I can make as much mess as I like.I could make it better by spending a couple of hundred pounds and about a weeks work but keep putting it off as this is valuable modelling time and as I work spare time is at a premium. So my man cave is exactly that a cave!

Wayne major boo boo you have got it all wrong.

Do you not realise that you actually keep the models and it is the empty boxes you throw out. Phew some mother's do have them. ;)
