The carpenter has done his job....

I have two shelves propped up on the left to fit when i work out exactly where. First though do all my modules and spray booth fit? Yes they do........

I next need to fit another light above the main work area for which I have a wall fitting. Once that is done I will decide where to fit the two shelves and then load the modules with paint and tools. One of the paint models was damaged so I have ordered a replacement from SMS. Some carpet to be fitted soon

Barry: That huge articulated light you have to the left of the new work area. Where did you buy it and what is its model name? I would like to have one.

Your setup looks perfect.

Thanks.

Ade, no these are designed to filter out the particulates without needing to be vented. Not ideal if you spray with enamels or other smelly type paints but ideal for paints like Vallejo.

Steve. I got the light and another like it for over the work area, but a bit higher powered, from Amazon. The one over the paint area is a daylight one that gives a softer light, ideal for airbrushing.

Looking good Barry I like the trailing socket under your work bench. Do you have more details on the light on the left? you said it was from Amazon what is the model and make?

Thanks. Couldn't find it on Amazon. They have over a dozen pages of lamps, and one similar to yours costs £350!

I have a perfectly good lamp but it wakens my computer every time I switch it on!

Tell him to hurry up or it will be his own Barry,

Only kidding best wishes go out to him.

Oops I should read them all before I post anything

Ummm.. a little out of my price range Barry but that said it looks like a nice bit of kit, I thought I was spending a lot when I spent £42 on one of my lamps.

Not much news yet.  We have still not moved in as we are awaiting the exchange on the missus' home.  I also don't even have any key as the builder has them with snagging going on. When we go over to the house there are other things she wants me to do rather than finish off the work area!

Here is what it looks like now.  I have to get my drill out to fix a bracket for a light over the build area and fit a couple of display shelves on the 'cheeks' of the alcove.

Looking very good. I bet you cant wait to use it 'in anger'.....

I bet that there wont go to much time and you'll have blinds up on those windows.

My old place the sun blasted in most of the day and you couldn't se a thing. And not to mention the heat factor.....

Good job the work area and spray booth fitted, it would have cost a fortune to have that wall moved.  xD

Its actually a very cool garage.   We had a very hot day yesterday and it offered a lot of relief from the heat when I popped in for the 10 seconds she allowed!!

My main problem will be cold in the winter but I have a cunning plan for that!!

As for blinds, maybe.  The windows are south facing.  I will just have to see how that pans out.  In the short amount of time I have spent in there so far I am not aware of an issue.

Yes, I am itching to get on with that HK Models Mossie...

Hey Barry

The work space is really taking shape - I love the high shelves above for keeping kits out of the way.

I've kind of reworked my space a little and will post pics if you like. I'm utilising the Hobbyzone system much the same as your good self (although I don't think I have as many units). Having done a very modest amount of work last night in my new set up on the 2 Fokker Dr1s (these 2 have been on the go for some 2 years now!) I can tell you that you'll really enjoy the new space and it certainly helped me maintain focus with some very, very demanding and fiddly work.

As for the HK Mossie - I'm really looking forward to you tackling this!

All the best

P

Hi Barry, do you have a link for those extractors, I move in less than a week so want to order some for my new man cave :)

Thanks

Adrian

Basically all the same Adrian.  The filter at the front blocks particles so assuming that the fumes are safe, not a great assumption in my book, the the outlet can be left off but not blocked as it will not draw air through.

these are the ones that John has.  Mine is very similar and I just stick the pipe through the window when spraying.

the difference it has made for me is amazing.

Yeah got one of those off eBay a few years back. Just liked the look of the others not having to vent them, I'm sure I saw some someplace but can I hell as like find em now :) Though they were extremely expensive as they filter everything out :)   but I will shortly have money to burn so will treat myself .

Hi Ade

here it is.  The units are the Aircom ones towards the bottom on the page.  They are specifically designed for use without needing to vent outside.   Good for paints such as Vallejo, AKI, Mig in particular.   I should add that mine are the 38 watt units.
