Well after my visit to the hospital yesterday I was given the news I wasn't hoping for, and that was that I need another operation on my spine.

More titanium and pain (not what the doctor ordered) or as it seems....it is!

I had my first op 9 years ago(fusion and compression in my neck) and it now appears the problem has moved further down my spine..oh well, I suppose it could worse.

I was really hoping that it wasn't going to happen...but it has, and it feels as if the rug has been well and truly been pulled from under my feet, but I have a shed load of kits and dio's under way, and I am going to get as busy as I can until they call me in.

I'm not going to let it get me down nor will I let it stop me doing what I love doing, plus I really like coming on this site and looking at others work.

I will try to keep my work updated as much as I can, and let you know when the op is, trying to keep my mind occupied(easier said than done)

Keep up the good work lads and looking forward to showing some of mine.

Tom

Sorry to hear of this Tom, I know what you are going through. Unless you have suffered 'Back Pain' you can never know how debilitating it can be.

I had a spinal fusion several years ago but thankfully for me it was a great success, I hope in time they can sort you out successfully.

Keep up the modelling, all your builds are amazing to see.

Bad news Tom hope all goes well.

My eldest son has had about 10 ops in the last 2 years for what appears to be similar problems. Always said his is the result of playing maniac football in his teens. All 110 percent fUll on tackles.

All the best.

Thats a bummer Tom. I hope you manage to keep busy and that all goes well when you go in.

Bit of blow Tom, but lets hope they can get you sorted. Your models will still be there mate and besides you can always get on here and have a gander and get some ideas for when your better. Nice to see that you're not going to let it get to you.

Hi all just an up date on my condition, I had a hospital visit to see if and when I was going in for a second operation due to a degenerative condition in my spine, and was told by the consultant to monitor my condition again, they have told me that even though my condition is slowly getting worse they don`t really want to operate as there is a high risk to myself!

Although I was slightly happy that I`m not going in for an op just yet, I couldn`t help but think afterwards on the seriousness of it all , it`s like having a ticking time bomb waiting to go off, but on the plus side....no operation yet, means I can get stuck into some of the stash I`ve built up ;)

A double edged sword there Tom, glad you don't have to gave it done though.

keep your spirits up Tom and carry on with the modelling maybe you will feel better for it

Keep your chin up Tom, at least you dont have the op to worry about for a while . best wishes Tony

Well I guess you don't have to worry about the operation anymore but it doesn't really address the pain issues, does it? Still, I'm impressed by your optimistic attitude Tom, and hope the modelling continues to give you some distraction.

Thanks guys for your kind words it means a lot, and I`m going to keep my mind off it for as long as I can, by getting stuck into building some kits ;)
