Having recently turned 50 I decided it was time to grow old ungraciously, so bought myself a hot hatch. Picking her up Saturday. :smiling:

Did exactly the same when I retired after 20 years of company cars where I had no say.
Growing old disgracefully in my case.

Hehehehehe, and why not. I did similar one or three years ago!! Brand spankers. First instruction, don't fit any of the go faster mods or stickers!! I like my wolves in sheep's clothing. Stops the boy racers sitting at lights revving the sugar out of their 1100cc 25 year Old Ford escorts with every conceivable body kit fitted!!!

Yep, first job when I get it home Saturday is to remove the ST badges.

I like the idea of removing the badges, maybe should do it on mine because it already causes confusion when some people see it. Been mistaken for a new Maserati - didn't bother correcting them!

Debadged the V8s on my 2012 GMC Canyon (5.3L, 305hp) pick up truck. Didn't bother with my LT1 (6.2L, 455hp) badges on my 2021 LT1 Camaro as it's an all black "Plain Jane" already.

Very nice indeed Bob, here's to many happy miles buddy.. :thumb2:

...prolly right next to your other one Dave....:smiling3:

Me too. Just got a new toy. Got rid of the big SUV and downsized for economy purposes.

Lovely motor Bob.

Some Fords have the badge mounting moulded into the front grille, so removing the badge still leaves the ST outline.

I'm not certain yours is like that but worth a look before you commit.

I painted one black once to make it less visible for the customer

My current wee beastie was an ex demonstrator, one of the things that drew me to it was the black badging. Stealthy!!!

My current car... picked for an absolute steal..(given the trade in against the wifes Fiesta, I couldn't resist it)..

And my old car...now Mrs L's daily driver

Is it all alarmed up Bob, I know Ford have made the Focus and Fiesta very desirable targets since they announced they are stopping production.

Bob I'd even consider fitting a tracker to it...one of those apple air tags would work fine, or a more purpose built car tracker.

Cheers all. :smiling3:

Yeah, the front badges has the same shape on the grill behind, so I got a black gel insert that covers the red bit. It hides it quite well. Back one came off fine with WD40 and dental floss.

Like most modern cars it has a Cat 1 alarm. Probably won't get a tracker, but the FordPass app allows you track the location. I'm careful where I park away from home, at work it's in a secure car park and at night on the drive right by the front door automatic light. I also got a Faraday box for the key, and might get a disklock for the steering wheel.

At the end of the day, any car is stealable, that's why we have insurance.

I have a couple of faraday pouches for keys try starting the car with them still in the pouch!!
