Hi Jim,
Welcome to the forum. Joining this forum has helped me with my modelling skills and abilities. I also joined a local IPMS club, my current one is in Wirral. I would recommend joining a club too (if not already a member), there is an IPMS club in Aintree. They’re a nice bunch of guys who I’ve met at various shows so I’m sure they would welcome you.
