Yes Gerry. also going to try and make some ivy so that it is climbing up the truck a little.

Looking excellent now Alan. You have a clear vision of what you are working towards and it’s paying off in spades :thumb2:

Love both the brambles, they look good having that curve downwards .The tree is superb, your right it is stressful at times when working with things like CA you don't have long to get the placement spot on . Going to be great Alan .

Alan

As the others have said that's coming on very nicely indeed.

Very well done indeed.

First tree done. Now to have a think about the painting. I am surprised by just how much seafoam it takes to make a tree. also i am not that impressed with the useable amounts i got from WWS. There are a lot of bits that i feel are not useable for just about anything. They seem to be really straggly bits. I would almost go as far as to say, 'the dross' left over.
Anyway. I'll see what i have left for the next tree. I might just have to make my smaller trees with what i have and order some more for the other tree.

Hi Alan
That's looking very good. Shame about the useless stuff - maybe another lot will be better.

Went for a little walk today. -5C so everything was lovely and crisp. Needed to 'stock up' on some diorama bits and kept my eyes open for some things. Some nice mosses, lichens, heather and birch twigs around. They'll do very nicely and are now drying ready to be preserved and used.

Take it that the brambles are going to be round the trunk of the tree?

Yes as you can see they are going to 'cover' the base of the tree. I've still got more to make and add but i want it to look unkept and wild.

Positioned the other small 'trees' (held with tweezers at the moment). It's starting to darken down the roadway, which is exactly what i am trying to achieve. Even without the foliage added there are some nice shadows coming through the canopy, making it all the more atmospheric. I'm really quite proud of it coming together now. Not bad for my second ever dio lol.

Really shows the value of having a plan before you start building!

I wouldn't go that far as to say i had a plan lol. I had an idea in my head and i'm sort of winging it. I've changed the 'plan' so much since it's original concept. Mainly due to my lack of building skills and funds. But it certainly is fun. I'm really enjoying doing this. Even researching the armour i'd like to build for it (yes i really did say armour!). I have a research book for Christmas or birthday that's arrived and i'm itching to have a look at it. But SWMBO just glares when i say i'd like to :)

Yeah i might get the Gaugemaster seafoam next time rather than War World Scenics (WWS). Same price but comes in a bigger box by the looks of it so won't be so crushed either. I was really disappointed with it as i had watched a load of the WWS YT vids and their product seemed great. They do different sizes and i opted for the small which is perfect for most of my needs.

Hopefully the next batch will be better and you'll be able to move things along.......keep up the good work. Rick H. :thumb2:
