I would complain Alan, it's quite obvious that those stems well passed treatment .
WWS I'm sure would replace .

To be honest i haven't Andrew. But i might send them an email to highlight this issue

This is magnificent, Alan. I've not ever attempted a diorama, but looking at others' efforts I'm aware just how tricky it is to make truly believable vegetation. And I think you've really caught it just right - no mean feat!

Re. the sub-par product from WWS - rather than 'complain', I'd be tempted to send them detailed pics, direct them towards this thread (never hurts to ensure they know potential customers are looking on!) and ask them to comment on the quality - are they happy with it? It may be that it's impossible for them to ensure everything in the pack is tip-top, for instance (unlikely, I know...)

That way you give them every chance to correct the problem, demonstrate excellent customer service, secure the approval of us onlookers, all without anyone getting cross!

I know if it was my business, in those circumstances, I'd instantly send replacements. I've done customer service myself, and unquestionably if you can turn around a dissatisfied customer into a satisfied one, that's even better than fully meeting their expectations straight off.

Mad, I know, but true!

I can see where you're coming from regarding the poor quality items - but will 'take the company's position' given the quantity of items that they sell, I very much doubt that each bag can be inspected for quality - but fully agree that any company 'worth its salt' would replace the substandard items.

FINALLY! Finished adding all branches to the two big trees. They are both ready for the painting phase now. Quite chuffed how they've turned out (minus foliage). Think that they should create some great shade on the roadway below when foliage is added. The last of the bushes will be added once the two main trees are glued in place (hence the gaps around those trees).

Doing a background, or looking at how Ron does it, by clever angles and natural light?

I will take it outside for some pics when complete. But it's quite big to do a stand-alone picture backdrop. I just placed the cardboard box there to show up the branches for now :)

Yes, I tried the 'outside' photos, but they didn't really work for me - couldn't get the angles without something in the background (gone now, so no chance of trying again)

When I tried the same Gerry some parts not glued down well started to fall off ! Daren't tip them , even to get the loose snow off :smiling3:

BTW @adt70hk and @John Race . I've sent a message to WWS regarding their seafoam. I do like using their products so i gave the information to them more as a sort of 'feedback' rather than a complaint. If they do read it and take note then it can surely only benefit other modellers and myself in the future. And at the end of the day. That is a positive thing.

I'll be surprised If the don't Alan . I've felt with them many times and found them more than helpful .They don't come over as in for the money only.

Hope you get a good response Alan.

I think I've bought something from them in the past and had no issues.

The diorama is coming on beautifully by the way.

Keep up the great work.

Just a quick update.

After the communication with WWS via evilbay i have been given a response.

I messaged them more as feedback about the seafoam rather than a complaint as i have used quite a bit of the seafoam they sent but, as you saw by the picture, there was some that was un-usable. I just wanted to highlight the issue to them rather than seek compensation so that maybe they could try and stop this happening in the future.
But to their credit they offered me a partial refund or some more seafoam in compensation. Personally i think the way they (Marie in particular) have dealt with me shows just how professional and dedicated towards their customers they are. I've used a few of their products now and can honestly say i am impressed. I shall defo order from them in the future too.

Hi Alan
You've put a lot of work into this and it has really paid off. It looks very good indeed. You should definitely be happy to have pulled off something that is difficult to do well - trees.
Good for WWS. I have always been happy with their service.

Hedge work FINALLY done! Had to re-do some of it as the glue didn't hold the leaves on. So had to use neat PVA.

Quite happy with how it's turned out. Just waiting to get some spray adhesive for the tree foliage. I don't want to get that wrong. To much time invested in them. Then it'll be onto some armour and figures for it

Very nice indeed Alan , spray adhesive is the best answer to fixing leaves, I also give a final spray at the end with some hair spray .

Glad to read you had a favouritably answer from WWS .

That looks fabulous Alan. You have really nailed a difficult part of the model makers art. You’ll be planning the next one soon…..and I for one can’t wait :thumb2:
