I still don’t understand this. It seems to be the main argument (though all we have is second-hand reports about the complaints), but can someone please explain to me how hits on one thread take away hits on another? Hits on a web page (thread, whatever) are not like money — there’s a basically unlimited supply, it’s not that every visitor to this forum has only a limited budget to spend. It's the volume of distraction on the quiz thread not others, that concerns some members.
Ultimately this is John's and the admins decision on what to do with the quiz thread. I have no strong opinion either way.I still don’t understand this. Related to that, I still also can’t get my head around why a thread can be a distraction if you don’t look at it. There’s plenty of articles in the newspaper every morning that I don’t read because the headline doesn’t catch my interest, but I don’t complain they shouldn’t be in the paper … Forum threads are no different: just don’t click on one that you don’t care for.
Obviously, but Ian did put it up for discussion (rightly so, IMHO) before a decision is made.Ultimately this is John's and the admins decision on what to do with the quiz thread.
