Thanks Andy

In a way we are really lucky. We know that chemo will destroy Tina's immunity, making her very vulnerable to infection. fortunately today is the 100th day in Guernsey since anybody has tested positively for COVID-19, for the moment at least we are a COVID-free island so we will not have to shield or self-isolate.

I'm with Andy Peter.......you and Tina will be in our prayers as well. Lovely work on the torso so far.

Hi Peter
Glad to hear that Tina is doing well. Wonderful that you are Covid free. Stay positive as I'm sure that helps.
Sculpting figures is a skill I really admire. The WAAF is looking great.

Rick, Steve, Jim - thanks for the kind words.

changing tack a bit; not sure if this made UK news but the founder of the airline Blue Islands (and Healthspan) died this week, and here is a little Flight path tribute from one of his pilots :

Hi Guys

thanks for the kind words for Tina - chemo is Yuk! We are not the rorst to go through this so it is a matter of taking it one day at a time.

here are a couple of photos updating the work so are:

the torso - more detailing needed
the head - work needed on the hair
the microphone 'horn' - little details needed.

Good face,Peter.
I find sculpting ladies is always a challenge, because I want them to be attractive without looking like hookers.
And of course with a WAAF subject we naturally expect the archetypal 'English Rose'.
Looks to me like you are getting it spot on!

Sorry to hear about Tina, but hopefully tings are moving in the right direction now.
Plotter lady is looking very impressive. Do you use any sort of reference, or do you do it just from a picture ?

Thread owner
.Hi neil - thanks for the compliment, hopefully she is more 'English rose" and less english nettle.

Colin -the references are mainly photos - either form books or the WWW, often of re-enacters. i attended Military Odyssey And was agle to take loads and loads of photos.

just refining a few bits and adding the nco stripes today, whihc shoud make her ready for painting.

Sorry to hear about Tina Peter, but great that she is recovering well :thumb2:
Neat work on ‘’Rose’’ too, looking forward to see her in colour.

Thanks guys

the good news is that it is pouring with rain so the plan is to spend time painting her, and working on my WW1 dio. or rather that was the plan until the postman delivered my postal ballot for, for our General Election.

if you missed my other thread, our parliament has 38 Guernsey members who, for the first time, will be elected on The basis of a single, Island-wide electoral district. This means that we can each cast up to 38 votes. We have no parties in the conventional sense, all members are elected as individuals so there are 119 individual manifestos to review.

here is what a ballot paper with 119 candidates looks like:

I have set myself the task of no modelling until I have chosen my 38.
