I posted a while ago in latest acquisitions that my daughter had bought me an Airfix Vulcan for my 78th birthday. Having finished the Humbrol Tempest I thought I'd better start on the Vulcan - the box was taking up too much space!.IMG_20260819_093628.webp
The only flat space I could find toe spread out the sprues was the bed:

Yes, a double bed worth of sprues in 1/72. This is a big aircraft!
Made a start on the cockpit:

With luck I'll paint that tomorrow so the IP decal can be applied.

Iconic aircraft. Certainly huge, seen the one at Cosford. A lot of plastic as you say. Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

I remember when I was young Dad used to take us to the RAF ST Athan open day. When the Vulcan flew over it blotted out the sky!

Not sure I've seen a blow by blow build of this kit Pete, so following with interest. Looks huge
Certainly is huge Joe; 450 mm long, 470 wingspan! Could cause problems as I work on an A4 cutting mat. I'm sure it isn't going to fit in my spray booth.

Nice one pete , everybody loves a Vulcan . Always fancied doing one but the older Airfix tooling was reportedly a bit of a slog , this new tooling gets rave reviews though , maybe I might finally bite the bullet
