discussion Pete's Vulcan

[Darian Frey]

It's be interesting to see this built up. I have all three V-bombers in the stash and have been thinking of giving one a ago (the only thing stopping me being where to put it when done). Are you planning on the camo scheme or the all white Anti-Flash option?

[stillp]

Camo, the anti-flash white would be too easy and I'd like to build the conventional bomber version.

Never under estimate the power of easy LOL! Mind you , they do look great in camo so good choice!

[Airborne01]

That's a big old chunk of loveliness!

A good choice Pete. I built this kit about 5 years ago, and don't remember any problems with the kit. Although painting the thing was fun !

[stillp]

Managed to finish the cockpit interior. A shame that Airfix didn't give the crew downstairs something to look at!

Probably all invisible when the canopy is on.

Very nice work Pete

[Darian Frey]

I'm really surprised they didn't include a decal for the rear panel - but like you said, I doubt any of it will be seen, or not, as the case may be.

The cockpit loos great though - nice work.

This will be an interesting build Pete. My chair is pulled up for this beast.

Yup. Single colour camos are not as straightforward as they first appear!

[stillp]

I've filled the nose with airgun pellets and a glob of PVA, so while that dries I'll move on to something else:

It's going to be BIG!

Coming on nicely Pete

Cockpit looks good, I had a look in the real thing while visiting the Vulcan based at Doncaster airport.
It seemed extremely cramped, surprising for such a large aircraft.

Geoff.

[stillp]

Yes, I was shocked by the small size of the cockpit when I went in the one at Coventry a few years ago.

YEATH an me also had a look in the vulcan at norwich avation museum but she is rotting away as while i was standin underneath her a bit of the wing just dropped off to my amazement but only a small bit

Great work so far Pete, I built the older version and had to build my own bomb bay. This is looking very good indeed.

[flyjoe180]

Nice work Pete, look at the size of that wing on your bench!
