well guys I am interested in what you guys use to protect you clothes when you are modelling ie using glues etc I have a storemans coat but it does not cover my legs and I am getting super glue on sometimes , how I don't know but wondered what you guys use , I suppose I should move some of my kits so that I can get under the table a bit more to protect them

I just slip on a pair of track suit bottoms which are now covered in paint and glue it only takes a minute to change I did contemplate a woodwork/kitchen apron might get one of these in the sales

I just wear old clothes or something along those lines, I don't really think you'd need anything costly ;) :)

The only time I put anything special on is if I am doing lots of tiny PE type things. I have an old jewellers apron (which is black) I find it has saved me loads of trips under the bench to find bits that have pinged off. Otherwise its just the normal jeans.

My wife knows me as the butcher Steve.

Yes I have the regulation storemans jacket. But relegated it to the back of the door after wrecking two pairs of trousers. When sitting down it parted at thigh level and exposed my trousers.

So to Amazon I did go and got a butchers apron. Nice blue and white stripes. Easy to sling on. It has a lot of paint on the front side but nothing has come through on the side nearest the body. It is cotton but is very closely woven. From memory about 6 or 7 pound. If you do go for an apron get one with a good length. I remember measuring to make sure it came well over my knees.

I have old t-shirts and tracky bottoms for modelling, no worries about getting crud on them. I used to have a apron but it got ripped and binned.

Si:)

I use no protection I'm a man I model nude its what real men do.
Be careful you don't get a glue on your winky dink the nurses in A&E won't believe you model in the buff :D

I use any old cloths to build in so Im not bothered how messy I get :)

I tend to work the other way around. Every morning jeans go on but I put something smarter on if we go out. That way I'm always dressed for messing around the house no matter what I'm doing. Mind you a boiler suit goes on if I'm doing something really messy.

I have cut my bottom open (was wearing clothes at the time) left a Stanley knife sticking over the edge of the bench bent down to wrestle a bit from the CM stood up forgetting about knife and backed into it 3 inch gash in bottom and an embarrassing visit to er

Careful you do not airbrush it out it will never be the same again.

I remember buying my woodwork apron for school. Just a simple bleached cotton apron with a waist tie. They were pretty cool and very cheap but probably no longer available at school outfitters anymore. We can't have little Johnny nicking his finger with a chisel can we, someone will want to sue the school!!

I have ruined a new pair of trousers with cyno so will try and get an apron
Did the same with a cashmere jumper, first time on......never again, more grief than if I'd murdered a puppy :)

Cheers

Steve

just old tracky bottoms and a cardigan for modelling,

as i tend to clean and wipe my brushes on them,o_O

One thing not to wear is those shiny three quarter length short thingies...they melt when you spill super glue on them :(

You know the bibs babies wear, the ones with the curved bottom designed to catch all the food they drop ? Well I wouldn't mind an adult sized one of those. Every little part I dropped would surly end up in there. And therefore starve the carpet monster.
