Pushing Back .......

Have a delivery of a couple of other plaster buildings arriving anytime. I may be able to squeeze another on beside my cafe .... this is a patisiere. Not sure if it will fit without cramping the scene out .... but if it does .... I reckon it will just finish it off.

More on that later. I shall post up a couple of pictures of it hopefully by Friday when I get home.

Well ......

I have it on good authority from SWMBO that my plastercast buildings and wallpaper sheets have arrived from Fields of Glory ...... delighted.

My head is in explosion mode as the Fields of Glory building casts open another couple of choices / opportunities for me going forward this weekend. I'm about wetting myself in anticipation of getting my hands on this stuff and playing around with a couple of potential changes in scenarios when I land on friday.

I will have to spend a couple of hours at mumsies on either saturday or Sunday as I go on holiday the following weekend so that will reduce the available time I have for progress.

However, I will still at least get the ground floor fitted out with floorboards and the tile batons on the roof. Probably get the upper first floor constructed as well.

It will give me time to hopefully get a few shots of my new buildings posted and a couple of shots of the potential configuration changes that have been mulling around in my head. The new Patteserie shop plaster cast mould has got me pretty excited.

I'll use the time in Cyprus to try and work out some kind of plan of action for going forward on my return. There's just so much to go at and its quite tricky trying to work out the best order in which to do things. I don't want to get any element to far ahead of itself for the fear of damaging it uneccesarily through over handling whilst you are working on other parts .... also big mucky paw prints.

So far its been cobbles, kerbs, walls and first fix building elements but I reckon it will start to take one almighty leap when first fix landscaping, pavements, permanent walls and the explosion etc start to take shape. They are all a bit away yet though so for now ..... its small steps.

Hopefully the multitude of different tasks etc will keep it more interesting for anyone trying to follow.

Looking forward to trying to keep you on board as I progress.

Cheers for now

Wow, looking forward to you working on the pre-fab buildings...they do cut working time shorter and these days are well made. In my days decades ago Verlinden was the only one in town that had them...heavy as hell. Have only one piece still sitting on the shelf. I make my own to fit my narrative...costs cheaper that comes with its pros and cons, the latter is time consuming. Besides the one I am resuscitating here, these are some I have done...

I am anxious to see you arrange your buildings into a composition of your preference. It's always nice to see a diorama come together. The woodwork on the roof beams and rafters is already impressive. If it's scale you want then try to paint in the damage and burns although pyrotechnics can be fun.

All very nice.

Top right in particular.

Toto
Thanks Toto, you mean the bridge made from balsa? The balsa bridge was made 40 years ago for a different concept and composition. Sat on the shelf until I had a place for it in my new diorama during covid. The completed diorama is here if you want to view it.
By Friday your hands must be itching to get stuck on your dio...something good to look forward to. How long is the flight?

Cheers,
Wabble

Its a 4 and a half hour flight ... just manageable for me as I get electric pulses going up and down my legs. Some flights are worse than others ..... at its worst... it drives me to distraction but ... needs must.

I have some paperwork to do on friday night when I get in but I'm hoping an hour should more than do it. In the shed for around 7.30pm and I'll get two or three hours to do some of the things on the hit list.

I think I'll have Saturday in the shed and part of Sunday. I'll need to visit my mum on Sunday at some point as well.

Should still get a fair bit done though ..... can't wait .... dying to get on with it.

Thanks for tuning in

Toto

By the way Wabble ........ whats the story behind the palm trees in your avatar picture ..... they look amazing
