I would like to make a memorial build in Ron's honour.
I suggest a change from the norm. An open to all build that can be joined by anyone at any time.
As for a subject for the build? What else than a diorama - vignette. or just on a simple base...
An alternative could be any model that tickles you fancy but brush painted.
Ron built many a model to stand alone, most ended up in a diorama at a later point
I personally am not a diorama/base builder and definitely not a brush painter but O will give it a go.

If you just want to build a kit as you normally would, in his honour, make it something he would have built.

If you do build a dio you can reuse a previously built model or model's. It's also fine to build one for the occasion.
Water was nearly always present in some form, from a meandering stream to a raging sea.
Building's! All of which he made from scraps of card, pizza boxes and the like. But if its to much to get into, then a kit building is fine.
Sand, stones, rocks and other dressings were more often than not driveway sweepings.
I have, since posting this, made a few changes to hopefully include as many as possible
What say you? Would that be appropriate?

I think that would be a very fitting tribute GB to Ron. It includes all the best of him.

Sounds like a plan.

Even the idea of a free & easy timetable seems more like Ron's style.

One thing that I forgot in the initial post. If you feel up to it, a preamble story could be quite fitting. It was the Background stories that had me chuckling whilst enjoying his builds.
Ron had a talent for keeping humor in most of his diorama builds, a thing I quite like to do as well, (he did it better though lol).

Didn't someone suggest it should be brush painted in keeping with Ron's methods?
I mentioned it because I remember him as staunchly anti-airbrush, but it was only a suggestion.

Maybe an idea for those that can?

Great additions Ian, very inclusive.

After all, Ron built models the way he enjoyed building them, so it's entirely appropriate that a GB in his honor should offer the same.

Sadly I'll have to bow out of this - a great idea but I have no experience of dioramas or vignettes. I'll dedicate my next build to Ron anyway.
Pete
I have amended the parameters so anything goes.

Of course I’m in , something out of my usual area but hopefully a fitting tribute
