So i spent most of the week applying coats of this fluorescent orange and its turned out quite well, one or 2 little bleed marks but nothing i cant fix with a grinder. Colour was quite hard to balance and the pictures don‘t do it justice but were heading in the right direction

Tamiya rattle cans for the white red orange,the blacks & silvers air brush x11 & x 18

hi not much of an up-date been an interesting week or 2, got the reds on to the fairings , tank and rear seat cowl all was looking great so I gave it a quick rub down with 2k grit and clear coated it using humeral clear BIG mistake orange turned yellow and ran in to the reds and whites after a bit of a cry ((joking) I was in to minds as to rob the parts from another kit but after some investigation I discovered you can strip the paint using oven cleaner or Dettol really to be fair I was stunned that Dettol could be used a a paint stripper, but I felt the the oven cleaner would be to aggressive I decided to give it a try, ok so I mixed it 50/50 with water and soaked it for 22-24 hours really didn't expect it to work if I'm honest, but amazingly I brushed of the bubbling paint and was left with pristine white plastic absolutely brilliant anyway started again and have just about finished the paint work hand on heart I buggered up the tank again and its now re-soaking in a fresh batch of Dettol I was going to live with it, but I would see it & everytime I looked at it I would kick my self for not stripping it back...
so here are the other parts I will try and get the tank done over the weekend and start the decals & polishing this off (if the tank don't beat me again)

Shame about the need to respray. It’s amazing what will act as paint remover. Fairy power spray cleaner has long been a favourite of the figure paint community! I occasionally still use it as an airbrush cleaner.
Looking very very good now though! Cant wait to see the final reveal :thumb2:

Sorry to hear about your paint woes. I had similar problems when I built this kit, although mine were down to chipping the paint when I tried to fit the fairing piece onto the tank. If I recall correctly I actually glued those two pieces together for the second go and painted them as one piece.

i lost my bottle of power spray when I moved, but that looks similar…..

Windex window cleaner works also works well. That looks like this…..

Thanks for the tips hope not to use to much of these but really great to know you can use these for that special occasion!,,, when it goes wrong thanks :thumb2:

Well managed to get that pesky tank assembly done and painted, thank the lord.
started assembling the panels and adding decals
there are more than a few to do so will post once the remainder are fitted and that should be job done
the build was great the painting was challenging but glad i can see light at the end of the tunnel
