Hi All

Here is my next build. This is a new tooling brought out late last year and I picked this one up from Wonderland Models for under £20.

As it says on the box you are able to build two versions and they supply engine cowlings, canopies, treaded and smooth tyres and high and low tails. There is also options for different ejector shoots for the armament. The decal sheet looks to be in good registration although the black areas seem a little mottled and not solid unfortunately this is not visible in the photo. I will have to wait and see if this shows up once applied fingers crossed it doesn't.

As you can see from the spru shots there is some very fine detail down to the point that they supply the fuel line as a clear part. One thing Revell has finally picked up on and what people have moaned about for a long time is the lack of RLM numbers well here they are for the first time

Not sure when I will be able to start on this one as my work station is not completely sorted. So watch this spaceView attachment 80700

I was going to build this one Vaughan, but I chickened out! I'll pull up a chair :)

Cheers

Hi Vaughan

This is another kit I have waiting in the stash. I'll be interested to see this coming together and the decal options you go for.

Cheers

Paul

Count me in as well. I too have one in the stash, yes you read correctly I have a German aircraft in the stash! (three actually :-P )

I wont be building mine for a while so I will watch and learn.

Well that is a surprise 1/32 Vaughan ! Where do you put them all I am running out of space with 1/48. Interesting as it does seem that when you get into a scale you do not on average change

As you say lots of detail and that page with all the colours etc looks as though you will be kept busy.

Fascinated with Barry's camouflage and will be interested to have your technique when that part comes around. It looks to me as if the camouflage is the most difficult.

Well at last I've made a start and predictably with the office. This comes with over 15 parts and also that fuel line in clear plastic. No problems with construction all very straight forward. I've used the decal for the instrument panel as there is no dial detail within each dial so the decal sits perfectly flat. The seat belts are HGWs a little fiddly but worth it and at £6.20 for two sets plus PE parts you get a lot for your money. Toe straps are made from foil.

Very nice Vaughn and your off to a great start I do like revels 1/32 aircraft so I'll be keeping an eye out for this one :)

Having just completed that kit I wish you lots of fun. It *is* a nice kit. Be sure to read up on the different options though as Revell went all out as far as the fuselage goes. Depending on what machine you want to build (G-5, G-6, G-10, boost or no, Mg 108 etc) different access hatches have to be filled and sanded! Have a look: http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/1238-132-messerschmitt-bf-109g-6-early-and-late/ and http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=46590

Great start on the cockpit Vaughan, looking forward to following this build.

Hi Vaughan

Great looking cockpit. Those late war straps and the fuel line add a lot to the space don't they. The Revell detail within the cockpit is quite good I think and you've obviously finished to your usual impeccable standards so it looks great.

Keep up the great work Vaughan I'm interested to see how this kit comes together.

All the best

Paul

Thanks guys

Reelo, thanks for the links I had checked out the reviews when I first bought the kit so have made some adjustments to the fuselage as I've opted to do the early version top oil filler cover filled as was only used on the G10 variant.

The cockpit is now all buttoned up and I have added the spar to achieve the correct dihedral.
