Day 51

Cheers Joe. Here is the progress for todays session. I have now started on thecrew cabin. This is the part that ihave been waitng to complete the most because it has a lot of scale details that I can add to it. This includes one of the figures I purchased.

Day 52

One critical; thing about building the wheelhouse is that the boson sits at the right height. The seat is designed to be installed but it may be to high, so i have fitted the boson together and will check the height when the time comes.

It is easier to paint some areas now as I go along, just makes the job less hard.

Next was to cut out all the dash pieces and the assemble.

Another error here with the kit is the marked seat location. Clearly this is wrong!!!

Day 53

I noticed that to Ian. He has got gloves on but under his hand sits his helmet on his knee. I continued on the console today and I think it looks good enough. I have also worked out the seat height so I can carry on and finish that off.

Day 55

Cheers Ole, it sure looks comfy lol. I have now completed the rear cabin and some more work on the front cabin, again I used heat shrink for the hand rail and I added the hand rail above the door. The internal air vents are fitted and the bracket for the round seat.

Thanks Mr & Mrs Ole. It does look kind of new doesn't it. I will give it the slightest of weathering when ive completed it. A little dirt around the rivets etc. I think.

Day 56 - 57

Still working on the wheelhouse I have now installed the flooring, again this is one of my touches and not included in the kit.

The next job was to make the radar. I used some green transparent glass paint to make the screen and built it up with a few layers. I wished now that I had done this on a clear plastic base and put a light inside so it came on with the rest of the lights. Perhaps I may make another one and do this.

View attachment 74167

Now the part I have been dreading, cutting out the windows and frames.

View attachment 74157

With these complete and the internal frames stuck in place it was time to stick them together to the wheelhouse. This is tricky because of getting the angle just right and hoping the top roof section fits ok.

The next part was to fit the roof. I have made a start on this already.

Still looking very good Andy, amazing what you're doing with it.

I'd personally go for the radar with the light in it, you'll kick yourself if you don't no doubt.
