I know that he is getting the publicity because of who he is, but that doesn't detract from the layout being quite remarkable. It must be a bit of a shame for him that it is in LA and he now lives mainly in the UK.

That is a great layout. You can see the investment in it both money and time.

I read somewhere that Rod worked on a lot of his models in hotel rooms whilst on tour instead of propping up the bar!
A few years back, some local yobs broke into a local model railway club's building and trashed as much as they could of their scenic layout. Rob got to hear about it and gave that club a very generous donation towards restoring it.
