Not sure how old this clip is but I have just been had it passed to me.

Interesting film Barry. Its great to know there are people out there dedicated enough to restore aircraft like this one to flying condition.Id love to do something like that when I'm retired.Duxford is only 55 miles from me so who knows....

Great clip I have a 2 seafires in my stash think I will model one of them on this thanks for sharing

Yes Dave, If I had the chance to work on this sort of thing I would jump at it. Perhaps Duxford has volunteer workers ?

The only time I worked on this sort of thing was in the RAF around 1978/80.I was a J/T airframe fitter in ASF at RAF Coningsby.I usually worked on Phantoms. But The Battle of Britain flight had a lot of work on .So a few of us were sent to help them out for a month or so,I remember being given a pile of STI's and SI's for the Shackleton and being told 'Have a read of those and go and do them on the Lancaster if you think they are applicable'!

Ahh, Coninsby, I was there for a short time in '76' reforming 56 Sqn to Phantoms. Having spent the three years before at Bruggen on 14 Sqn and having patched up their Phantoms and waved them goodbye ended up at Wattisham with the same aircaft, but we spent three months at Coninsby while the Lightnings departed Wattisham and then moved down there. I was an engine fitter.
